Volkswagen India will soon be launching the facelifted iteration of its popular mid-size SUV, Taigun, in India. Now, a lot of people have become eager to see how the new Taigun facelift will look. So, to give you a realistic view of what the new SUV will look like, we have created a few renderings based on the recently spotted test mules of the Taigun facelift.

First off, let's start with the exterior design of the new Volkswagen Taigun facelift. This time around, the Taigun will ditch its boxy front fascia for a smoother and more flowy design. It has taken its design inspiration from the recently launched Tiguan R-Line. The main highlight of this SUV's new front end will be its new and sleeker LED headlights.

They will now get an eyebrow-like LED DRL, and the two headlights on either end will be connected by an LED light bar in the middle as well. What will make the Taigun's new front look even more modern and futuristic is its illuminated Volkswagen logo in the centre. The front bumper will also be sharper yet elegant, with black detailing and a large skid plate.
This particular rendered model has been imagined in a bright shade of yellow, and it gives it a very sporty look. Moving to the side profile, the new Taigun facelift will not be much different from the current model. It will still boast the same strong shoulder line and a high window line with chrome garnish. Most likely, the new facelifted iteration will get a set of new 17-inch alloy wheels.

As for the rear end, like the front, the LED taillights will be brand-new and sleeker. There will also be a connecting light bar in the middle. However, whether the rear will get an illuminated logo or not has not been confirmed. Apart from these, the rear bumper will be new, and we can expect it to get an integrated rear spoiler as well.
Most likely, Volkswagen will not completely change the dashboard layout in the new Taigun facelift. It will continue to offer the same functional dashboard; however, it is expected to get a bigger touchscreen infotainment system. Additionally, it could get a bigger 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, a panoramic sunroof, and front seat ventilation with powered functionality.

Recently, Skoda launched the Kushaq facelift with segment-first rear massaging seats. So, it is very likely that the Taigun could also get the same feature. Apart from these, the rest of the cabin will remain the same, except that it could get a new colour scheme for the upholstery.
On the powertrain front, Volkswagen will continue to offer the Taigun facelift with the same TSI petrol engines as the current model. The first will be the 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol, three-cylinder motor, which is capable of making 115 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. However, this time around, it will be offered with an 8-speed AISIN automatic gearbox instead of the 6-speed torque converter.
The 6-speed manual gearbox will be the standard gearbox for the 1.0-litre Taigun facelift. Additionally, the more powerful and enthusiast-favorite 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine, which makes 148 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, will also be on offer. However, it will only be offered with the 7-speed DSG gearbox. Sadly, no manual gearbox will be offered with this engine from now on.
Most likely, the Volkswagen Taigun facelift will be launched in the second half of this year. As for the rivals, it will take on the Hyundai Creta, new Renault Duster, Tata Sierra, Skoda Kushaq facelift, new Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Grand Vitara, and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
