The German automotive giant Volkswagen is taking a product-offensive approach in India to ensure that its market share increases. For this, it is preparing an aggressive product expansion strategy, with one launch planned every quarter. This plan will start this year and will continue till mid-2027, and today we are presenting you with the details of all the cars planned for launch.

Volkswagen has officially revealed the facelifted Taigun, and it will be revealing its price in this quarter. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 11 lakh to 19 lakh. This time around, the Taigun facelift has become sharper, more premium, with design inspired by Volkswagen’s global SUVs. It now gets a slimmer front grille, new bumper with wide horizontal slats, sleeker LED headlamps, and an LED light bar connecting the headlamps.
It also gets an illuminated Volkswagen logo (front & rear), a redesigned rear bumper, and new LED tail lamps with sequential turn indicators. The higher-spec variants get 17-inch alloys, and lower-spec variants get 16-inch alloys. The dashboard layout is largely unchanged but gets new premium trim materials and multiple interior colour themes.
Other notable highlights include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster (larger), a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and automatic climate control. It gets the same 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI engines. However, the 1.0-litre engine now gets a new 8-speed automatic gearbox, and the 1.5-litre is only available with the 7-speed DSG.

In the next quarter, from July to September, Volkswagen will be launching the mid-cycle update of the popular mid-size sedan, Virtus, in India. It will feature minor design tweaks, a new 8-speed automatic gearbox, and subtle design revisions such as a redesigned front bumper with a mesh-pattern air intake, new alloy wheel designs, and a possible LED light bar connecting the tail lamps.
It will also get revised headlamp and tail lamp detailing. On the inside, it is expected to get new trim materials and colour schemes. The same 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI will be powering this sedan. We can expect the pricing of the new Virtus to be in the range of Rs 10.49 to Rs 18.99 lakh. Once launched, it will rival the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, and Skoda Slavia, which is also due for a facelift.

Volkswagen is also planning to expand the Tayron lineup with a more affordable non-R-Line variant. Currently, the Tayron R-Line is the flagship SUV, and it will be launching the non-R-Line version to make it more accessible to buyers, with a lower price positioning of under Rs 45 lakh.
The non-R-Line version of the Tayron is expected to offer fewer premium features and slight design changes to differentiate it from the R-Line. It will continue to offer the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and the same transmission option.

Volkswagen will be bringing a second batch of its popular hot hatch, the Golf GTI, to India. The first batch of 150 units was sold out almost instantly. And to fulfill the growing demand, the new batch will be offered in India, and it is expected that the company will bring another 150 units as CBU imports.
This time around, however, the company might increase the price of the Golf GTI. Previously, it was priced at Rs 53 lakh. The Golf GTI comes powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine capable of making 265 bhp and 370 Nm of torque and comes with a 7-speed DSG.

To replicate the success of the Skoda Kylaq, Volkswagen is planning to enter the sub-4m SUV segment for the first time in India. This is a major strategic shift from the premium-only positioning of the brand. This SUV will sit below Taigun and rival the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Skoda Kylaq, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and many other sub-compact SUVs.
Its design will be inspired by the Volkswagen Tera sold in the Latin American markets. This upcoming SUV will be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform. It will boast sleek headlamps with connecting LED DRLs and an illuminated VW logo like its elder siblings, a wide air dam, a faux skid plate, and integrated fog lamps.
This SUV will also get unique alloy designs, LED tail lamps with a connecting light bar, and much more. On the inside, it will get a classy and feature-loaded dashboard. The powertrain will be the same as the Kylaq. The 1.0-litre TSI engine will make 115 PS and 178 Nm and get a 6-speed manual and the new 8-speed automatic.
