When it comes to the electric vehicle market of India, there are two automakers which are completely dominating it. We are talking about Tata Motors and Mahindra Automotive. Now, despite already having a number of EVs in their lineup, both of these automakers are gearing up to launch multiple new models in the country. So, without any delay, here are the details of new Tata and Mahindra EVs that are in the launch pipeline.

Mahindra has launched the XEV 9S 7-seater EV SUV with a 70 kWh battery pack. Now, it has been reported that the company is planning to offer the BE 6 with this 70 kWh battery pack option as well. Currently, the SUV is available with 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs, which offer claimed ranges of 557 km and 682 km, respectively.
Now, the new 70 kWh version will sit between the two existing options, and it is expected to offer around 600 km of MIDC-certified range. As for the power, it will most likely make 241 bhp and 380 Nm from the same rear-wheel-drive motor. This variant is expected to be positioned around the Pack Two Above trim level and could make its debut in the coming months.

Just like the BE 6, Mahindra will also be launching the XEV 9E, which is the coupe SUV version of the XEV 9S, with the 70 kWh battery pack option. Once again, the 70 kWh option will offer buyers a middle-ground option between the 59 kWh and 79 kWh variants. The SUV is expected to offer the same 241 bhp and 380 Nm rear-wheel-drive setup. As for the range, it too will likely be very close to 600 km.

The BE 07 will be one of Mahindra’s most important upcoming EVs. It too will be based on the INGLO platform, and it will sit above the BE 6. Once launched, it will take on rivals including the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Harrier.ev, and BYD Atto 3.
Now, unlike the futuristic coupe-inspired BE 6, the BE 07 will feature a more traditional SUV design and offer a higher stance and better practicality. Its battery pack options are expected to include 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh units. It is believed that its pricing will most likely be in the range of Rs 25-30 lakh, and it could be launched around October of this year.

One of the most anticipated electric SUVs coming from Mahindra is the Vision S sub-4m SUV. The concept of this SUV was shown last year in August, and it has been reported that the ICE version will go into production by late 2026, following which the EV version of the Vision S will also be launched in India.
It will be based on the new NU_IQ multi-energy architecture and will feature rugged styling with a boxy silhouette. Currently, there are no details about the powertrain and battery pack options of this SUV. However, it could borrow the 59 kWh and 70 kWh battery pack options from the Born Electric lineup of the company.

The last EV from Mahindra in the launch roster for now is the Thar.e. The concept of this SUV was showcased back in 2023. It is believed that this electric off-roader will be making its debut by next year. The production model of the Thar.e is expected to be a five-door electric off-roader based on the INGLO P1 platform.
Mahindra is also expected to make it better with its learnings from the Vision T concept. Powertrain details are still under wraps, but it is expected to become one of India's most capable electric lifestyle SUVs.

To bank on the success of the Sierra ICE, Tata Motors is now preparing its electric version in India. The Sierra.ev will be making its official debut on June 30th, and it will be based on Tata's Acti.EV+ architecture. Its overall design will remain similar to the ICE model.
However, it is expected to feature EV-specific elements such as a closed grille, redesigned bumpers, and unique alloy wheels, which will help in differentiating it from the ICE model. Battery options are expected to include 55 kWh and 65 kWh packs. There are some reports which have stated that it could also get an all-wheel-drive version as well.

Tata is also working on the electric version of the Safari, which is expected to become the brand's flagship electric SUV. This 7-seater EV SUV is expected to launch by the end of this year. Like the Harrier.ev, the Safari.ev will also be based on the Acti.EV+ platform.
It is likely to get EV-specific styling cues on the outside. Also, the Safari is expected to get premium features such as a 14.5-inch Samsung Neo QLED touchscreen, JBL audio system, built-in dashcam, and advanced connected technology on the inside. Powertrain options are expected to be similar to the Harrier.ev and will include the dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration as well.

Last on this list is the most premium EV in Tata's future lineup, and it will be the Avinya X. Recently, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility has confirmed that the model is expected to arrive by the end of 2026. The Avinya X will be based on Tata's Generation 3 skateboard platform, which is derived from Jaguar Land Rover's Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA). It will be positioned as a luxury electric SUV and will be sold under the Avinya brand and not Tata Motors.
