Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited has one of the most loyal customer bases in India. Its SUVs and MPVs are known for their reliability, ruggedness, and street presence. Over the coming months, the company is planning to launch not one but several new models in India. What will be common among these is that they will be 7-seaters. So, without wasting any more of your precious time, here are the details of the upcoming 7-seater Toyota models coming to India.

The most highly anticipated model coming from Toyota is the new generation of the Fortuner. This new-generation model will be based on the updated IMV ladder-frame platform, which is the same platform that underpins the already internationally launched Hilux lifestyle pickup truck. It is expected to make its debut by late 2026 or early 2027, after its global debut in the middle of this year. Like the current-generation model, the new Fortuner is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 35 to 55 lakh.
On the outside, it will be getting a set of new, sleeker LED headlights, a honeycomb-pattern grille with Toyota lettering, new bumpers, new and bigger 19-inch alloy wheels, and a set of new LED taillights. It will also be getting a much more modern cabin with all the modern amenities, such as a bigger touchscreen, digital gauge cluster, multi-zone AC, panoramic sunroof, and others. Powertrain options will remain the same as the current model.

Expected to be launched later this year around the Diwali festive season, a test mule of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder 7-seater was recently spotted testing in Ladakh. This particular test mule was seen with full body camouflage and overall looked very similar to the standard model. However, unlike the standard model, it was seen with a stretched profile and an extended rear overhang.
This new extended version of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 15 to Rs 25 lakh. Once launched, this seven-seater version, which will boast a longer wheelbase, will rival the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari, and the Hyundai Alcazar. Powertrain options of the 1.5-litre mild hybrid and strong hybrid will remain the same. It is expected to get some new features, such as Level 2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, and others.

Toyota launched the Innova Hycross hybrid MPV back in 2022. However, since then, the vehicle has only received some minor updates, and it is now due for a facelift. Toyota has also noted this, and it has been reported that the company is planning to launch the facelifted iteration of this popular MPV in India by late 2026 or early 2027.
Currently, the Innova Hycross is priced in the range of Rs 18.33 to Rs 31.30 lakh, so the facelift will be priced slightly above this range. Its main highlight will be minor cosmetic changes on the outside, including new bumpers, a revised grille, and alloy wheels. On the inside, it could get a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument gauge cluster, and new upholstery. The 2.0 petrol engine and the strong hybrid powertrain are expected to continue.

Based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the Rumion, an affordable 7-seater MPV from Toyota, is also expected to get a thorough refresh later this year. It is believed that, this time around, the length of this MPV will be increased from 4.39 m to 4.43 m and will boast a longer rear overhang. The new Rumion facelift will also be offered with a bigger boot space, which will help in the accommodation of the CNG tank in the CNG version.
Apart from these, minor cosmetic upgrades on the outside and inside, including 6 airbags as standard, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a bigger infotainment system, and others, are expected. The same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which makes 102 bhp and 136 Nm, will continue to power the new Rumion facelift. It will also get the same CNG setup as well.

Later this year or by early 2027, Toyota is planning to launch its first electric 7-seater MPV. This EV will be based on the Maruti Suzuki YMC electric MPV, which will utilise the same HEARTECT-e electric skateboard platform as the e Vitara and eVX. Pricing of this electric MPV is expected to be around Rs 22 to Rs 24 lakh.
In terms of design, we can expect a closed-off grille, sharp LED headlights, and aero-efficient alloy wheels. The main advantage of this SUV will be inside, where it will boast a flat floor and a spacious 3-row cabin. It is expected to be offered with 40 kWh and 60 kWh battery pack options, with a real-world range of around 450 km on a single full charge.
