Just like the mid-size SUV segment, the 7-seater SUV segment in India has also started growing, and we have seen several brands launching stretched versions of their 5-seater SUVs in the market due to rising demand. This trend is not just limited to ICE vehicles, as we have also started seeing it in the EV segment. Here we have a list of upcoming 7-seater SUVs and MPVs that are expected to launch in the market soon.

VinFast launched its first-ever 7-seater MPV, the VinFast VF MPV7, in the market recently. Before the launch this year, VinFast had also announced plans to introduce its ride-hailing service, Green and Smart Mobility (GSM), in India along with the MPV7.
VinFast is now expected to launch a much more basic-looking version of the MPV7 for the fleet market. It will come with fewer features and will probably be offered with limited colour options too. The MPV is expected to use the same 60.13 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of around 517 km.
Tata Motors launched the Tata Harrier EV last year, and we already know that an electric version of the Tata Safari is also on the way. As per recent reports, the Safari EV is expected to launch around the festive season this year.

The exterior design of the Safari EV is expected to remain similar to the ICE version but with EV-specific changes like a revised front end with a closed grille, aerodynamic wheels, LED tail lamps with updated design elements, and more.
It would become Tata’s first three-row electric SUV and is expected to be the flagship model from the brand. It is also expected to retain premium features such as leatherette upholstery, memory seats, a panoramic sunroof, seat ventilation, and more. Tata may also introduce a triple-display setup similar to the one showcased in the Tata Sierra EV.
The SUV is expected to be offered with 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery-pack options. The larger battery pack, as seen in the Harrier EV, offers a claimed range of around 622–627 km, while the smaller battery delivers around 538 km. Higher variants may also come with an AWD setup.

Tata is now planning to expand its EV lineup and is preparing to launch a range of premium EVs under a new and separate sales network. The Avinya is one such model, and it was first showcased as a concept at the Auto Expo several years ago. We also saw a near-production-ready version around the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
The Tata Avinya X is expected to be a premium crossover available in 5-, 6-, and 7-seater configurations. It is expected to be nearly 5 metres long and will come equipped with advanced features beyond what we currently see in Tata models.
This is going to be Maruti’s first electric 7-seater MPV. It is internally codenamed YMC and is based on the same platform as the recently launched Maruti Suzuki eVitara. Maruti is currently testing the eMPV, and it is expected to launch by the end of 2026.

The YMC concept is expected to be a larger MPV when compared to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, and it is likely to compete with the likes of the Kia Carens Clavis and Mahindra XEV 9S in the segment.
The MPV is expected to come with features like a large touchscreen, spacious cabin, captain seats, a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, wireless charging, ventilated seats, powered seats, connected-car technology, and a panoramic or fixed glass roof.
We expect the YMC MPV to come with a front-mounted electric motor and the same battery-pack options as the eVitara. The 49 kWh battery pack is expected to offer a claimed range of around 440 km, while the larger 61 kWh battery variant may deliver up to 543 km of range.

Once Maruti launches the production version of the YMC MPV, Toyota’s version of the same electric MPV is also expected to arrive in the market. Mechanically, the MPV will remain the same and will come with a similar feature list. However, the exterior design of both MPVs is expected to be different in order to maintain brand identity.
