The country's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, and its strategic partner, Toyota, both dominate the 7-seater vehicle market in India. However, even after being on top, these two automakers are gearing up for the launch of more 7-seater models in the coming period, which will help them maintain their lead over others. So today, we are presenting you with the list of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki and Toyota 7-seater cars that will be launched soon.

The first model on this list is the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga facelift. Currently, the Ertiga is one of the most popular affordable MPVs in India. However, the current-generation model has been around for a while now, and it has been reported that the next-generation model will be launched in a while. As a result, Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch a facelift to keep the MPV fresh in the market.
At the moment, exact details of the update have not been revealed. However, it is expected to receive minor styling revisions on the outside along with a more feature-rich cabin. Reports have also suggested that Maruti Suzuki could offer an underbody-mounted CNG tank. As for the powerplant of this MPV, it will still continue to offer the familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which will come paired with both manual and automatic gearbox options.

Soon after the launch of the facelifted Ertiga, Toyota will also introduce an updated version of the Rumion. For those who may not be aware, the Rumion is Toyota's version of the Ertiga. The updated Rumion is expected to receive changes similar to those seen on the facelifted Ertiga. It will likely get revised styling, a refreshed cabin, and additional features. Its engine options are expected to remain unchanged. Most likely, this update will be launched later this year.

Next up in the Toyota launch lineup is the more affordable hybrid variant of the Innova Hycross. This new variant will play a very important role in the company's future plans, as it will replace the diesel-powered Innova Crysta. As we know, the Innova Crysta will be phased out once the stricter CAFE III norms come into effect around March next year. Now, to fill this gap, Toyota will introduce a lower-spec hybrid variant of the Hycross.
This variant will use the same 2.0-litre strong hybrid petrol powertrain, which produces 182 bhp combined with the electric motor. This upcoming model will mainly be launched for fleet operators and commercial buyers who want lower running costs and better fuel efficiency.

Another major launch from Toyota will be the facelifted Innova Hycross. The company is expected to launch this updated MPV by late 2026. The facelift will not bring any major design changes. Instead, it has been reported that Toyota will focus on improving the overall ownership experience. The MPV is expected to receive minor cosmetic revisions, updated interiors, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, and an improved instrument cluster.
Toyota is also expected to enhance cabin comfort and ride quality. Powertrain options of the upcoming Hycross hybrid will remain the same. These include the 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol and the 2.0-litre strong hybrid petrol powertrains.

One of the most highly anticipated launches from Toyota is the next-generation Fortuner. The Fortuner will most likely once again continue to hold on to its position as the best-selling premium 7-seater SUV in India. Last year, Toyota sold over 34,000 units despite it being expensive.
The next-generation Fortuner is expected to be offered with a completely redesigned exterior and interior, which have been inspired by the latest-generation Hilux. Reports have suggested that it will feature a much sharper and more muscular appearance. The front fascia is also expected to adopt elements of Toyota's latest design language, and so will the rear.
Apart from exterior changes, the new Fortuner is expected to get a more premium and feature-loaded cabin. Its features list could include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, and ADAS, along with many others. Its powertrain options will remain the same, and it will continue to offer the same 2.7-litre petrol and 2.8-litre diesel engine options with mild-hybrid technology.

Maruti Suzuki currently does not offer a proper 7-seater SUV in its lineup. However, this is expected to change soon with the launch of the Grand Vitara-based 7-seater SUV, which has been internally codenamed the Y17. This SUV is expected to be launched around the festive season or by the end of 2026.
It will become Maruti Suzuki's flagship SUV offering, and it is expected to be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh. When compared to the standard Grand Vitara, the upcoming SUV will feature a longer wheelbase, a stretched rear overhang, and a more upright rear profile. These changes will help accommodate the third row of seats.
Its feature highlights are expected to include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, a digital instrument cluster, a heads-up display, a 360-degree camera, TPMS, and Level 2 ADAS. Six airbags are also expected to be offered as standard. As for the powertrain options, it will most likely offer the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engines.

Toyota is also working on its own version of the Grand Vitara 7-seater. The company has already started testing this SUV on public roads, and camouflaged prototypes have been spotted multiple times. The upcoming Hyryder 7-seater is expected to share most of its components with the Grand Vitara 7-seater.
However, it will feature Toyota-specific exterior styling. Like its Maruti counterpart, it is expected to be offered with both 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol powertrain options. Toyota has not officially announced the launch timeline of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder 7-seater. However, reports suggest that it could arrive by the end of 2026 or during early 2027.

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto will also get some major updates. This MPV, which is based on the Toyota Innova Hycross, is expected to get a facelift next year. The updated model is expected to feature a revised grille, larger 19-inch alloy wheels, redesigned bumpers, and additional exterior colour options. Apart from cosmetic changes, Maruti Suzuki is also expected to add a few more premium features to this MPV.

Maruti Suzuki is also gearing up for the launch of its second electric vehicle for the Indian market. Internally codenamed YMC, this all-new electric MPV is expected to be launched around September 2026. In the last few weeks, a number of test mule spy shots of this MPV have been shared online.
The YMC will be based on the Heartect-e skateboard platform and will measure around 4.5 metres in length. Thanks to the dedicated EV architecture, it is expected to be offered with a spacious cabin along with a flat floor. Its feature highlights will include a panoramic sunroof, a digital instrument cluster, powered seats, ventilated seats, and a large touchscreen infotainment system.
As for the battery pack options, it is expected to be offered with the same options as the e Vitara. These will include 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs. It could be priced in the range of Rs 18 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.

Last on this list is Toyota's version of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki YMC electric MPV. This model is expected to make its global debut by late 2027. The electric MPV will share the same Heartect-e platform, battery packs, and electric powertrains with the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and the above-mentioned YMC electric MPV. Like all badge-engineered products, Toyota will differentiate the vehicle by offering a few minor cosmetic, unique exterior design and styling elements. Most likely, it will be launched next year, in 2027.
