To fulfill the demand for increasing 7-seater vehicles in India, Toyota is planning to launch 3 new 7-seater vehicles. There will be two new SUVs and a new MPV. Now, without wasting any time, here are the details of the upcoming Toyota 7-seater cars that will be launched in the near future.

Toyota launched the Rumion MPV based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga back in 2023. Since then, this MPV has not seen any major update. So, in order to make the Rumion more popular, it will soon be getting a major facelift. This time around, the Rumion will grow in size and will see an increase in length from 4.39 m to 4.43 m. Its wheelbase will remain unchanged at 2.74 m.
This increase in length will be contributed by the longer rear overhang. As a result of this increase, the new Rumion will get a bigger boot capacity, and this extra space will come in handy in the CNG variants, as currently a CNG tank takes up a lot of space. Apart from these, the interior is expected to largely remain the same. However, it will be getting some minor updates, including repositioned second-row seats.
We can also expect 6 airbags as standard across all variants, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and some other minor feature additions. As for the powerplant, the 1.5-litre petrol engine, which makes 102 bhp and 136 Nm, will continue to be on offer. Also, the CNG version, which makes 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm of torque, will also remain the same. Pricing of the new Rumion could be in the range of Rs 10 lakh to 14 lakh.

One of the most successful Toyota models in India, the Fortuner will soon be getting a generation change. Globally, it will be launched around the middle of this year, and its India debut will take place later this year or by early 2027. This time around, the new Fortuner will be based on the updated IMV ladder-frame platform, and its design will be inspired by the globally unveiled Toyota Hilux new generation.
It will get a more imposing design, sleeker LED headlights, Toyota lettering on the grille, new larger alloy wheels, and new connected LED taillights. Other updates will include a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, a panoramic sunroof, powered seats, better materials, and an overall more modern cabin. It will also get ADAS Level 2 and other safety features.
Powertrain options will most likely remain the same, including 2.7-litre petrol and 2.8-litre diesel with a 48V mild hybrid system. There are reports which have suggested that it could get a new 2.4-litre turbo petrol strong hybrid powertrain. However, it has not been confirmed as of yet. Pricing of the new Fortuner will be around Rs 36-55 lakh.

In addition to the above-mentioned models, Toyota is also gearing up for the launch of the 7-seater version of its mid-size SUV, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. A little while ago, a test mule of the Hyryder 7-seater was spotted testing up north with full body camouflage. It was noted that this test mule had an extended rear overhang and a stretched side profile.
This extension will help in the accommodation of the third row. It was also noted that this particular test mule was equipped with an AWD system. We can expect some minor cosmetic changes and some feature additions as well. As for the powertrain options, they will remain the same as the current model.
Presently, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is offered with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a mild hybrid system and a strong hybrid powertrain. The mild hybrid gets the AWD system as well. The launch of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder 7-seater could take place around the festive season, with pricing in the range of Rs 14-20 lakh. It will be rivalling the likes of the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari, and the Hyundai Alcazar.
