Toyota Kirloskar Motor, like several other car brands, is working on expanding its lineup in India. We already know that the company will soon launch its first electric SUV, the Toyota eBella, in the market. Along with that, Toyota is also expected to bring the compact SUV Toyota Land Cruiser FJ to India by 2029.
Just like EVs, hybrid cars are also gaining popularity in the country. Here is a list of four hybrid vehicles that Toyota is planning to bring to India soon.

Toyota has officially announced that it will discontinue the Toyota Innova Crysta next year. The diesel MPV will be phased out because of stricter emission norms. Once the Crysta leaves the market, it is expected to leave a major void, as it was efficient, powerful, and reliable. These qualities made it especially popular among fleet operators.
The current Innova Hycross hybrid variants, although extremely fuel-efficient, are not very affordable. In order to solve this issue, Toyota is reportedly planning to introduce a lower-spec variant of the Hycross Hybrid with fewer features and a more accessible price tag. The regular petrol version of the Hycross is not as fuel-efficient as the outgoing Crysta diesel.
The lower-spec Hycross Hybrid is expected to use the same 2.0-litre strong-hybrid petrol powertrain that generates around 182 PS and comes paired with an e-CVT gearbox. It is likely to offer the same spacious cabin but with a reduced feature list.
We recently came across images of a heavily camouflaged SUV that looked like the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder being tested in the mountains. While the side profile looked similar to the regular Hyryder, closer inspection suggested that the SUV appeared slightly longer than the standard version.

It is currently being rumoured that Toyota is working on a seven-seater version of the Hyryder. The SUV is expected to come with a design similar to the standard Hyryder but with minor changes to differentiate it visually.
It is expected to be offered with the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and the 1.5-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine. The hybrid setup will likely be paired with an e-CVT gearbox.
There is also a possibility that the SUV seen in the spy images could actually be Toyota’s version of the Maruti Suzuki Victoris.
The Toyota Hyryder was first launched in 2022 and has now spent around four years in the market without a major update. A facelift version of the SUV is currently in the works.
We expect to see minor cosmetic updates on the outside, including a redesigned front grille, revised bumpers, and new alloy wheels.

On the inside, Toyota may introduce Level 2 ADAS as a new feature. We could also see features like seat ventilation and possibly a new colour theme for the cabin.
The SUV is expected to continue with the 1.5-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine paired with an e-CVT gearbox. The 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine is expected to remain available with both manual and automatic transmission options.

The last SUV on this list is the Toyota Corolla Cross. It is expected to be a 7-seater SUV that could arrive in India by 2028–29. Internally, it is reportedly known as the 340D project and will be built on the TNGA-C platform, which currently underpins the Toyota Innova Hycross.
This SUV is expected to be priced at around Rs 30 lakh and positioned between the Hyryder and the Toyota Fortuner in Toyota’s lineup. It is likely to be offered with a 2.0-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine.
