Toyota's first electric car for India will be the Urban Cruiser eBella, which was recently unveiled. As per the reports, it will be officially launched next month in April, with prices expected to start from Rs 16 to 21 lakh. It will be based on the HEARTECT-e skateboard electric platform, the same as the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara. Powertrain options will include 142 bhp and 172 bhp electric motors, and two battery pack options of 49 kWh and 61 kWh, with a maximum range of 543 km on a single full charge.

The mighty Toyota Fortuner's next generation will be making its official global debut later this year, and most likely in India it will be arriving around the festive season or by early 2027. Pricing of the new generation Fortuner will be around Rs 36 to 55 lakh. This time around, it will be based on the updated IMV ladder-frame architecture. As for the changes, it will boast a new and sharper front fascia, which will comprise the new LED headlights, grille, and bumper. The interior will also be updated and come loaded with features. Powertrain options of 2.7-litre petrol and 2.8-litre diesel will remain the same. It could also get a hybrid powertrain as well.

The lifestyle pickup truck Hilux will also be witnessing a generation change. It is expected to make its debut in India later this year after the global rollout. As for the pricing, the next generation Hilux is expected to be priced around Rs 35 to 40 lakh. The Hilux and the Fortuner both will utilise the same updated IMV ladder-frame platform. In India, we will be getting the 2.8-litre diesel-powered Hilux. However, international markets will also get a 52.9 kWh battery pack-equipped EV version offering a range of 315 km and a dual motor setup making 196 bhp.

Recently, a test mule of the 7-seater version of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder was spotted in Northern India. It is believed that in the second half of this year, Toyota will be launching this SUV to rival the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari, and others. The test mule was seen with longer rear overhangs and a stretched side profile. The upcoming 7-seater Hyryder will get the same 1.5-litre strong and mild hybrid powertrains and the AWD system.

Toyota wants to expand its SUV portfolio in India, and it is planning to bring the Land Cruiser FJ to India. Unfortunately, we will most likely not see it on the roads till late 2027 or early 2028. The Land Cruiser FJ will also be based on the updated IMV ladder-frame platform and will boast a retro, boxy SUV design. It will also get a tailgate-mounted spare wheel and C-shaped LED DRLs. The same powertrain options as the Fortuner will be offered with the Land Cruiser FJ in India. Pricing will be around Rs 35-45 lakh.

Another facelift in the launch cards of Toyota is the facelifted iteration of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. This strong hybrid SUV will be getting a facelift later this year and will be priced in the range of Rs 12-20 lakh. It is expected to get a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, an 8-speaker Infinity audio system with Dolby Atmos, an 8-way powered driver seat, Level 2 ADAS, and many others. Pricing will be around Rs 20 to 32 lakh.

Another highly anticipated launch from Toyota will be the series hybrid version of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor crossover. Like the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, it will be getting the same 1.2-litre Z12E three-cylinder petrol engine, which will be acting as a generator. It will charge the battery pack, which will then power the electric motor that will power the wheels. This vehicle is expected to make its debut in the second half of this year after the launch of the Fronx Hybrid. Pricing will be around Rs 10-15 lakh.

Based on Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming electric MPV YMC, Toyota will also be launching its own version in India. This SUV will be based on the HEARTECT-e platform, and it is expected to offer 40 and 60 kWh battery pack options. It will come with three rows and will rival the Kia Carens Clavis EV, VinFast Limo Green electric MPV, and the BYD eMax7. Pricing is expected to be around Rs 18-30 lakh, and the launch will most likely take place in late 2027 or early 2028.

Back in 2023, Toyota showcased its new architecture, the IMV 0 modular ladder-frame platform. Based on this new ladder-frame, Toyota is expected to launch an SUV which will be around 4.5 m in length.
