Weeks ago, we saw spy pictures of the Tata Tiago EV facelift being tested on our roads, and now we have come across a new set of images where the ICE (petrol) version of the Tiago was spotted testing. The Tiago is Tata’s entry-level model for the Indian market, and this is expected to be the first major update it will receive since its launch.

Coming to the images, they were shared by CarDekho on their website. The Tata Tiago facelift in these images is fully camouflaged, but it does give a hint about the changes we can expect. To start with, the front looks slightly different from the current version. It is possible that Tata is planning to give the Tiago facelift a new front fascia.

As part of the update, we expect a sleeker-looking front grille and redesigned headlamps. The headlamps on this test mule look slightly sleeker than those on the current version. The turn indicators are placed on the outer corners of the headlamps, and it looks like we might see integrated LED DRLs, similar to what we saw on the Tiago EV facelift test mule recently. There is also a possibility that Tata might opt for a twin-barrel design for the headlamps. Tata is also expected to redesign the front bumper for a fresher look, while the bonnet and front fender designs are likely to remain unchanged.
The side profile of the Tiago facelift looks more or less the same. The only noticeable change here is the new alloy wheels. It continues to get pull-type door handles and ORVMs with integrated turn indicators. It also appears that there is a camera under the wing mirrors, which could mean that Tata might offer a 360-degree camera feature with this hatchback.

Moving to the rear, the design appears to be a revised version of the current model. Just like the front, we expect updated tail lamps and a redesigned bumper. The images that have surfaced online do not reveal the cabin, but we expect Tata to introduce a refreshed interior with an updated dashboard, a touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, and touch-sensitive AC controls on a gloss-black centre console, similar to other Tata cars. Tata is also expected to offer several safety features, including ABS, six airbags, ESC, TPMS, and HSA.

The engine and transmission options for the Tata Tiago are likely to remain the same. It will continue to be powered by the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 86 PS and 113 Nm of peak torque. The same engine, in CNG form, produces 75 PS and 96.5 Nm of torque. Both petrol and CNG variants are available with manual and AMT gearbox options.

There is also a possibility that Tata might offer the Tiago with the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that was recently introduced with the Punch facelift. However, this is just a possibility, and there is no official confirmation yet. If introduced, this engine would generate 120 PS and 170 Nm of torque, making the Tiago one of the most powerful hatchbacks in its segment.
