Tata launched the updated Tiago EV in the market a couple of days ago. As part of the update, Tata made several changes to the EV. Tata is very serious about the EV segment, and the recent update to their entry-level EV is actually a sign that proves the same. Tata has made several visual and feature upgrades to the hatchback as part of the facelift, and they have also released an official video for the same.
The Tata Tiago EV has been launched at a starting price of Rs 6.99 lakh, ex-showroom. It is available in Smart, Pure+, and Creative+ variants only. The prices go all the way up to Rs 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom. In the video, Tata shows all the visual changes and the features that the Tiago EV now gets.
At the front, Tata has changed the headlamp design completely. It now gets sleeker LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. The front nose or the grille is closed and is finished in the same colour as the rest of the body. As this is an EV, there is no conventional grille at the front. The hatchback comes with a closed grille and a small lower air dam.
Moving to the side, the hatchback continues to offer the same design as the outgoing model. The major difference here is the 14-inch Hyperstyle wheels. The ORVMs are electrically adjustable, and we also have a shark-fin antenna with GPS. The hatchback also comes with revised tail lamps with a connecting LED bar. It is a 5-door hatchback with a decent amount of space in the boot. It offers 240 litres of boot space with all seats up.

On the inside, the Tiago EV comes with grey-and-sage-green dual-tone interiors with fabric inserts on the dashboard. The EV also comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a floating-type digital instrument cluster. Tata is also offering a two-spoke steering wheel, but it is finished in matte and doesn’t get an illuminated logo.
Tata is also offering steering-mounted controls and other features like cruise control, Sierra-like power window switches, a driver armrest, cup holders, a manual handbrake, dual wireless phone chargers, rear AC vents, automatic climate control, regen buttons, seat pockets or magazine holders, a rear defogger and wiper, a 360-degree camera, and so on.
The Tiago EV is available with the same battery packs as before. It was earlier rumoured that Tata might introduce a larger 30 kWh battery pack with the Tiago EV. However, that didn’t happen. It comes with 19 kWh and 24 kWh battery pack options. The smaller battery version produces 62 PS and 110 Nm of torque, while the long-range version produces 75 PS and 114 Nm of torque.
The smaller battery version offers a claimed driving range of 223 km, while the bigger version offers 293 km. Along with the cosmetic upgrades, Tata has also updated the charging speed of the Tiago EV. The EV can now be charged using a 30 kW DC fast charger, a 7.2 kW wall-box charger, and a 3.3 kW portable charger. Like all other Tata EVs, Tata Motors is now offering a lifetime warranty on the battery packs to the first owner.
