Sierra was one of the most awaited models from Tata Motors for our market. The production and deliveries of the Sierra have also started. The Sierra is an iconic name, and that is the reason why it received an overwhelming response from buyers. There is a long waiting period for this SUV, and we have even come across several videos where dealerships are seen conducting bulk deliveries to customers. We have now come across a video where a Tata dealer in Gujarat is seen delivering 101 Sierra SUVs in a single day.
The video has been shared by Tata Motors on their official YouTube channel. The video is from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It looks like the dealer made arrangements for a grand delivery ceremony, and we see the usual religious rituals and cultural programmes being conducted as part of the function.
The keys are handed over to the customers, and the vehicles are then slowly driven out by them. This is not the first time a Tata dealership has conducted a delivery ceremony in such a grand manner. In fact, earlier this month, a Tata dealer from Madhya Pradesh also delivered over 100 Tata Sierra cars to customers in a single day. The deliveries for the Sierra started from mid-January, and since then, the brand has delivered over 14,000 units of the Sierra to customers.
Tata Sierra was an iconic SUV from the Indian car manufacturer. It was actually one of the first made-in-India compact SUVs. The original Sierra was way ahead of its time, and it came with a three-door design. It was because of these reasons that the Sierra was never a huge seller for the brand.
However, over the years, people realised the value of the Sierra, and there were several well-kept examples in different parts of the country. Tata recognised the potential and decided to launch a brand-new SUV with the Sierra name.
The brand had huge recall value, and that is the reason why the new Sierra, despite not looking anything like the original SUV, received an overwhelming response. It gets a boxy exterior design with premium interiors and features.
It gets one of the largest panoramic sunroofs in the segment. It is also Tata’s first SUV to come with a triple-display setup on the dashboard. Two of them are touchscreen infotainment systems, and one is a fully digital instrument cluster. The SUV comes with leatherette upholstery, seat ventilation, memory seats, Level 2 ADAS, an electric tailgate, LED tail lamps, LED headlamps, six airbags, and more.
The Sierra is available with three engine options. The petrol engine is a new unit developed by Tata. It is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine that generates 105 bhp and 145 Nm of torque. This engine will be offered with manual and DCA gearbox options.
The SUV also comes with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that generates 158 bhp and 255 Nm of torque. This engine is available with a 6-speed automatic only. The SUV is also available with a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine that generates 116 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. This engine is available with both manual and automatic transmission options.
The price for the Tata Sierra starts at Rs 11.49 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes all the way up to Rs 21.29 lakh, ex-showroom.
