Tata Sierra was one of the most awaited SUVs from the Indian manufacturer this year. The Sierra got launched last year, and the official deliveries only started this year. While we know that modifications are illegal in India, there are a decent number of customers who like to customise their vehicles. The Sierra is no exception, and we have already started seeing examples of Sierra modifications online. Here we have one such Tata Sierra with off-road-spec wheels that looks brutal.
The video has been shared by muflih on their Instagram page. In this video, we see a Tata Sierra parked next to a building. The SUV is finished in the signature Andaman Adventure (vibrant yellow) shade. The SUV is completely stock, but it felt different.
The one thing that made it look different from the regular Sierra is the wheels. The stock dual-tone machine-cut alloy wheels on the Sierra give it a premium look. They give it an urban SUV-like vibe. The original wheels are 19 inches in size.
The owner of this Sierra replaced the stock alloy wheels with aftermarket alloy wheels. The owner opted for rugged-looking off-road-spec wheels. The tyres on the SUV were also off-road-spec units. A simple alloy wheel swap itself has changed the overall look of the car.
The SUV now looks butch and, for some reason, taller than before. If you notice carefully, the new wheels and tyres are not leaving a lot of space in the wheel wells. There is a possibility that the SUV might have received a slight lift. This must have been done intentionally to ensure that the wide wheels do not rub against the wheel arches.
These types of modifications actually look great visually but are not that great to drive. They often ruin the overall ride quality and handling of the vehicle.
Apart from the wheels, nothing else has been changed on the SUV. The black colour of the alloys complements the yellow-and-black shade of the SUV. Other than the name, there is nothing in common between the old and the new Sierra SUV.
It is based on a brand-new platform and is one of the latest and most feature-loaded SUVs from Tata. It is available with one of the largest panoramic sunroofs in the segment. Tata is also offering a triple-display setup on the dashboard, and it also comes with leatherette upholstery, ventilated seats, electrically adjustable seats with memory function, a floating-type centre console, extendable under-thigh support, and so on.
Coming to the engine options, the SUV comes with three engine options. Tata actually developed a brand-new petrol engine that debuted with the Sierra. The SUV in the lower trims comes with a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine that generates 105 Bhp and 145 Nm of peak torque.
This engine is available with manual and DCA gearbox options. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine generates 160 PS and 255 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes with a torque-converter unit. The SUV is also available with a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine that generates 116 Bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque. This SUV is available with manual and automatic transmissions. Prices for the Tata Sierra start at Rs 11.49 lakh, ex-showroom, and go all the way up to Rs 21.29 lakh, ex-showroom.
