In 2026, Tata Motors had a busy start to the year. Deliveries of the newly-launched Sierra began in mid-January. In February, the carmaker launched the Punch facelift, and the Punch.EV facelift arrived later. Even in the coming months, this Indian carmaker is expected to commence a bunch of hotly anticipated product launches. Here’s a closer look at what to expect this year.

Tata Motors will launch the highly-anticipated Sierra.EV on May 19, 2026. It will be positioned below the Harrier.EV in Tata’s electric vehicle portfolio. Like the internal combustion counterpart, the electric Sierra is also expected to be priced competitively. When launched, it will compete primarily with the Mahindra BE6.
The Sierra.EV will borrow many of its styling cues from the internal combustion counterpart- tall bonnet, large panoramic rear glasses, flush door handles,clamshell-styled tailgate- will all be kept safe, while the front grille, bumpers and wheels will be redesigned heavily. Tata is yet to reveal the interior design of this EV.

It is expected to share most of its features with the internal combustion counterpart. If so, it will come with a panoramic sunroof, three screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 12-speaker JBL audio with Dolby Atmos, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless charger, rear sunshades, 360-degree camera and more.
The EV will use the petrol/diesel Sierra’s platform- ARGOS. Two battery packs- likely 55 kWh and 65 kWh. Rumours also suggest that a larger 75kWh battery could also be in the works for use on the All Wheel Drive (AWD) variants. Yes, the Sierra.EV will have AWD from day one. It is also expected to feature a compact, integrated drive unit.

Another expected launch from Tata this year is the facelifted Tiago.EV. According to reports, the upcoming electric hatchback will offer Battery As A Subscription (BAAS) option and may even get larger battery packs. The outgoing model, for perspective, has 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery packs. Time remains before we learn more about these specifications. The update will also bring notable design and equipment improvements to the Tiago.EV. In India, the Tiago.EV competes primarily with the MG Comet EV.

An all-electric version of the Tata Safari is expected to launch around the festive season. It has already been spied on tests, and is expected to use the Harrier.EV’s underpinnings and powertrains. If so, it will be based on the Acti,EV+ platform and feature the same battery packs. Rumours suggest that Tata Motors would offer a larger 80 kWh battery on the AWD variants.
Both Rear Wheel Drive and AWD options will be available. More information is expected to surface in the coming months. The Safari.EV will be Tata’s first three-row electric SUV and when launched, will compete with the Mahindra XEV 9S.

And finally, Tata Motors will make its entry into the luxury EV segment later this year. The Avinya range of electric vehicles will all belong to the luxury space. The Avinya family will have at least five all-electric models, currently codenamed P1, P2, P3, P4, and P5. These will include SUVs, crossovers, and MPVs, and will go on sale between 2026 and 2030.
Tata Avinya range will borrow its platform and technology from Jaguar Land Rover. It will be based on a localised version of Jaguar Land Rover’s EMA skateboard platform. This is a highly modular architecture and can support various vehicle sizes and top hats. The skateboard will help in generating maximum space inside. The Avinya range will likely come with 70-90 kWh battery packs and offer both RWD and AWD configurations.
