Tata Motors recently discontinued the 45 kWh battery variants of the Curvv EV and launched the Series X in the market. In fact, the Curvv EV is now available in Accomplished X, Empowered X, and Empowered X Dark Edition variants only. The price for the Series X Curvv EV starts at Rs 16.99 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes all the way up to Rs 19.49 lakh, ex-showroom. Production for the Series X has begun, and it has also started reaching dealerships. Here we have a quick walkaround video of the newly updated Series X Curvv EV.
The video has been shared by Fuel Injected on their YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger gives us a quick walkaround of the Empowered X variant. This is the top-end variant, and it comes with all the bells and whistles. The exterior design of the Curvv EV remains the same. The SUV seen here is finished in a white shade, but Tata has also introduced Nitro Crimson, which is a deep shade of red, with the Curvv EV. The Empowered X variant is also available in the Dark Edition.
The electric SUV continues to offer a connecting LED bar, LED projector headlamps, cornering lamps, gloss black cladding on the sides, and 18-inch aero alloy wheels. The coupe-like sloping roof, which is part of its character, has been retained.
The front and the rear bumpers come with dark chrome elements, and we also see EV badges on the front door and rear. The cabin of the Curvv EV also stays the same. It gets an ice grey-coloured theme with leatherette upholstery and soft-touch materials on the doors and dashboard. As this is the top-end variant, the SUV comes with a 6-way powered driver’s seat and two-step reclining rear seats. It also comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, Level 2 ADAS, V2V and V2L, a 10.25-inch driver display, a 360-degree camera with a blind-spot view monitor, front ventilated seats, rear sunshades, a panoramic sunroof, and so on.
The Accomplished X, which is now the entry-level variant of the Curvv EV, comes with a smaller touchscreen infotainment system and doesn’t get electric seat adjustments. It also misses out on ADAS. However, it does get a 360-degree camera.
The vlogger talks about the cabin space and features in this video. He mentions that the cabin is not suitable for tall people, and the chances of you rubbing your head against the headliner are pretty high.
Coming to the battery pack option, as mentioned above, the Curvv EV is now available only with a 55 kWh battery pack. This battery replaces the older 45 kWh unit, and it now generates 167 PS and 215 Nm of peak torque. The electric coupe SUV from Tata offers a claimed driving range of 502 km. It takes around 7.6 hours to fully charge from 10 percent using a 7.2 kW AC charger. Using a fast charger, you can charge the Curvv EV from 10–80 percent in just 40 minutes.
We feel this move has been deliberately made by Tata, as the Curvv EV has not been a very popular EV in their lineup, and they also wanted to ensure that there is no price overlap with the upcoming Sierra EV.
