Tata Motors is very serious about its EVs, and the number of electric vehicles in its line-up is a testament to that. Apart from the existing models, Tata is also planning to enter the premium electric vehicle segment. As part of this plan, the company showcased the Avinya concepts to the public several years ago. Tata is working extensively on its premium EVs, and we have now come across a set of images that appear to show the dashboard of the upcoming Avinya EV. The design patent images of the dashboard have now surfaced online.

The Avinya is going to be the first model from Tata Motors in the luxury or premium electric vehicle segment. The Avinya concept was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo in 2025, and it felt much more production-ready than the initial iterations. The Avinya X is going to be the first product to arrive in the market, and the dashboard seen here looks like something that we would see in the production version of the SUV.
From the images that have surfaced online, we can actually identify a few features that the EV is likely to come with. The steering wheel on the Avinya X EV is going to be different from the current Tata models. It will feature a twin-spoke steering wheel with a soft horn pad in the centre. We can also see the Avinya branding in the centre. There are stalks placed right behind the steering wheel, and one of them is expected to be for the turn indicators, while the other would be for the wipers and other controls.

The AC vent design of the Avinya EV is also visible in the pictures. The AC vents are designed in such a manner that they appear to be a single unit running across the width of the cabin. It looks like the Avinya will get a minimalist-looking, sleek instrument cluster placed behind the steering wheel. The screen might be positioned in such a way that it appears to be a part of the AC vent trim.
The centre console of the EV can also be seen in the images, and sadly, we do not see any physical buttons. Instead, we see a huge touchscreen infotainment system. The screen appears to be larger than the displays currently offered in any existing Tata EV. The SUV also comes with a thick panel facing both the driver and the co-driver. It is likely to be covered in soft-touch materials. While we do not have any idea about the colour theme that Tata might offer for the cabin of this eSUV, it is expected to feel premium, as the vehicle is being positioned as a luxury offering.

It was initially rumoured that the Avinya would use Jaguar Land Rover’s EMA platform, but the latest reports suggest that the EV will use the Freelander platform developed jointly by JLR and Chinese automaker Chery. The Avinya EV will be sold through a separate retail network.

The Tata Avinya X is expected to be a premium crossover available in 5-, 6-, and 7-seater configurations. It is likely to measure close to five metres in length and will come equipped with advanced features that go beyond what we currently see in Tata’s existing models.
