Skoda launched the latest-generation Octavia RS performance sedan in India in October last year. It was being brought as Completely Built Units (CBUs) and sold in limited numbers here. Despite having an ex-showroom price of Rs 49.99 lakh, the first batch of 100 units sold out quickly. Now, we have a launch timeline for the second batch. Skoda will launch the second batch of Octavia RS in India this festive season. It will also be available in limited numbers.

Skoda hasn’t given out a launch date for the Octavia RS yet. The facelifted Kushaq was launched at the Skoda Experience 2026 premier in March this year. One of the slides in Skoda’s presentation then revealed the launch timeline for the RS. According to it, the second batch is to be expected in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2026. Diwali- India’s prime festive season and a high-traction period for the automotive business also falls around the same time.
It is thus logical to expect the performance sedan to launch during the festive season. Considering the demand for it here, Skoda could bring more units this time. Like before, these are also likely to get sold out in minutes.

The Octavia enjoys strong brand recall in India. The RS is essentially a significantly sportier version of the regular sedan. It looks sportier, and feels so inside. The Octavia RS comes with different bumpers, tasteful use of Black trims, RS badges, lip spoiler at the rear, 19-inch aero-optimized alloy wheels and more. The first batch was available in five colour options- Mamba Green, Velvet Red, Race Blue, Magic Black, and Candy White.
Inside, the Octavia RS gets Suedia/leather upholstery with Red contrast stitching. It also comes with sports seats in the front row. These feature electric adjustment, memory, heating and massage functions.

Other features include ambient lighting, 10-inch virtual cockpit (digital instrument cluster), 12.9-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 675W 11-speaker Canton sound system, head up display (HUD), three-zone climate control, wireless charging bay, 360-degree camera, powered tailgate and more. The sedan will also come with level 2 ADAS.

Now, let’s talk about the safety suite. The Octavia RS gets 10 airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, driving stability systems and a comprehensive ADAS package that comes with features like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Assist, and Intelligent Park Assist.

Forming the base of the Octavia RS is Volkswagen Group’s MQB Evo platform. The current generation RS is regarded as the spiritual successor to the Mk1 Octavia vRS and a major upgrade over the previous-generation Octavia RS. It has an advanced chassis setup, progressive steering and a sports suspension. These ensure that the RS excels with its handling and dynamics.
Its powertrain remains the biggest highlight. Powering the Octavia RS is a 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol engine making 263hp and 370Nm. It is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. The car can do the 0-100 kph sprint in just 6.4 seconds, and has a top speed of 250 kph. These are expected to remain the same on the second batch as well.
On the first batch, Skoda used to offer a four-year/1 lakh km warranty package and a 4-year complimentary Roadside Assistance. This was claimed to be the industry-best ownership package then. We could see a similar move with the second batch as well.
