The Kylaq sub-compact SUV from Skoda has become the highest-selling product in the Czech carmaker's lineup. In February, Skoda India celebrated the first anniversary of the Kylaq and reported that it has produced 50,000 units in just 13 months. Now, in order to continue the momentum of its success, Skoda will be offering the Kylaq in three new guises. So, without any delay, let's jump into the details of the three new Kylaqs coming to India.

The first iteration of the Skoda Kylaq that will be making its debut soon is the one which will come equipped with an 8-speed AISIN automatic gearbox. Currently, the Kylaq is offered with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine which makes 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. Now, instead of the current 6-speed torque converter, it will get a new 8-speed AT gearbox.

As per the reports, the new Skoda Kylaq and other Volkswagen and Skoda Group products are getting the new 8-speed AT as it will help in increasing fuel efficiency. Additionally, it will also offer better driving dynamics. Also, the maintenance cost of the new AQ300 AISIN 8-speed automatic gearbox will be lower, and it will also be more refined.
At the moment, Skoda has not announced the date on which the Kylaq will get the new 8-speed gearbox. However, most likely, it will be making its debut later this year. In terms of pricing, there will only be a marginal increase in the price of the Skoda Kylaq with the 8-speed AT gearbox over the current automatic variant of this SUV.

To make the Kylaq an even more popular model amongst younger SUV buyers, Skoda has confirmed the Sportline variant. This SUV will be making its debut in India. The Kylaq Sportline will sit on top of the Kylaq lineup in India and will feature a glossy black grille, black roof rails, and black wing mirror housings.
It will also get smoked lighting and new sporty-looking 17-inch alloy wheels. As for the powertrain, it will continue to get the same 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine capable of producing 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. The manual Sportline variant is expected to be priced at Rs 12.75 lakh. Meanwhile, the Sportline AT could be priced at Rs 13.65 lakh.

The last iteration of the Skoda Kylaq which is expected to make its debut in India is the Kylaq CNG. Aimed at buyers who need a CNG kit in their vehicle due to high daily usage, the Kylaq is expected to come equipped with a CNG kit. Currently, there is no confirmation if the Kylaq will be getting a factory-fitted CNG kit or a company-approved dealer-installed CNG kit.
Like most CNG-fitted vehicles, the Kylaq will also see a dip in the power level of this SUV. It is expected to make around 90–100 bhp in CNG mode. However, it will make up for the lost power with higher fuel efficiency. Reports have suggested that it could be in the range of 23–25 km/kg. Pricing of the CNG variant of the Kylaq will be around Rs 90,000–1,00,000 more than the equivalent petrol variants.
