
Most people love a big, powerful SUV that has an imposing presence. And currently, there are a few good options out there in the Indian car market. However, in the coming months, the number of options in the powerful 7-seater SUV segment is going to increase a lot. And if you are interested in knowing which new SUVs are in the pipeline, then this is the place for you. Here are the details of all the powerful 7-seater SUVs coming to India very soon.

MG unveiled the new Majestor in India on February 12th, and in April it will be announcing the price of its flagship 7-seater SUV. This D+ segment SUV will come powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, which will be capable of producing 215 bhp and 480 Nm of torque. What will also be special about it is that it will come offered with a low-range transfer case, 10 driving modes, 810 mm water-wading capacity, a luxurious cabin, and a ton of features. Pricing will be around Rs 45-50 lakh.

The current full-size ladder-frame segment champion, Toyota Fortuner, will be getting a significant upgrade this year. This time around, the new generation Fortuner will boast a much bolder appearance on the outside and will come loaded with all the creature comfort features.
It is believed that this year the new Fortuner will be getting a 2.4-litre turbo-petrol-based strong hybrid powertrain. The new generation Fortuner will continue to offer the same 2.8-litre diesel engine making 201 bhp and 500 Nm of torque, along with the 2.7-litre petrol engine. Pricing of the new Fortuner could range from Rs 40-50 lakh.

Volkswagen launched the Tayron R-Line in India on February 19 with a price tag of Rs 46.99 lakh. However, in addition to the sporty R-Line variant, the company is planning to launch a non-R-Line version of this SUV as well. The Tayron non-R-Line will boast more sophisticated styling and will not be as sporty as the R-Line variant. It will also boast a few fewer features and will be focused more towards comfort. It is expected to offer the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which makes 320 Nm of torque.

Next up in the lineup is the Skoda Kodiaq diesel. Currently, the Czech carmaker offers the Kodiaq with a petrol engine only. However, it is planning to introduce the Kodiaq with the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine, which is capable of producing 190 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. It could also get an AWD system as well. As per the reports, Skoda is planning to bring limited units of around 100-200 in the beginning via the CBU route. And if there is demand, it will bring new batches.

In addition to the diesel Kodiaq, Skoda is also planning to launch the Kodiaq RS in India. This will be the sportiest and limited edition of the Kodiaq and will come offered with a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, which is the same as the Octavia RS and the Volkswagen Golf GTI. This engine is capable of producing 261 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. The Kodiaq RS will also come equipped with a sportier front fascia, featuring a black grille, a sharper front bumper, black ORVMs and roof rails, and unique 20-inch alloy wheels.

The only 7-seater electric SUV on this list is the Tata Avinya EV. This SUV will be based on the Jaguar Land Rover’s new 800V Electrified Modular Architecture, which will also underpin other electric Land Rover SUVs such as the Velar EV, Evoque EV, and others. The exact powertrain options have not been revealed. However, it is expected to get battery pack options in the range of 75 kWh to 100 kWh, offering a range of around 500-700 km on a single full charge. Pricing of the Avinya EV will range around Rs 30-50 lakh.

The last SUV on this list is the Jetour T2 hybrid. This SUV will be launched by JSW and will come powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, an electric motor, and a large battery pack of 26.7 kWh. It will offer a pure electric range of 100 km.
What will make this SUV more unique is that it will be a very capable off-roader. It is expected to be offered with a smart 4WD system with a limited-slip differential, 220 mm ground clearance, and a 700 mm water-wading capacity. Most likely, it will be launched around the festive season of this year.
