The Hyundai Creta, a hot-selling model in the mid-size SUV segment, is set to get a full generational update in the near future. Expected to be out in late 2026 or early 2027, the next-generation Creta will have major design and in-cabin improvements. Recent spy sightings have revealed the possible direction that Hyundai could take with the design of this SUV. Based on the same, we have rendered it digitally.

This isn’t one of those routine facelifts. It is but a full model change aimed at keeping the model competitive in a rapidly evolving, high-demand segment. The design is expected to evolve drastically. The new SUV will come with boxier proportions and a tall bonnet.
Reports also say that it will borrow some of its cues from the Hyundai Crater concept shown at the Automobility LA 2025 in Los Angeles. This concept is based on Hyundai’s all-new ‘Art of Steel’ design philosophy. In these renderings, the front bumper, lighting and grille section have slight influence of the Crater in their designs. The SUV has all-LED lighting, and an illuminated ‘four dot’ logo at the front.
Another detail is the slightly flared wheel arches. These are squared off on the render, while the concept had a slightly different design. The nose section is tall and near-flat, as confirmed by test mules.

In the silhouette, you’ll see the roof line to be flatter and the stance to be tall. We have given it roof rails to add to the overall visual appeal. Previous spy shots have all kept the rear end’s design completely concealed. Beyond the C pillar, the rendering’s design would invoke memories of the outgoing Creta.
The alloy wheel design shown here may differ sharply from that of the production car. Overall, we have tried to move the design more toward the ‘SUV’ zone from the current crossover-like region. The vehicle in these images has a more structured stance and a stronger road presence

Inside, the new-generation Creta is expected to receive a complete redesign. Hyundai is likely to move towards a cleaner and more modern dashboard layout, more in-line with what we get to see on its global models.
One expected change is the screen size. The current 10.25-inch touchscreen and digital instrument cluster are likely to be replaced by larger 12.3-inch units. A similar move was seen when the second-generation Venue launched in November last year.
In addition to this, the new-generation Creta is also expected to get more refined interior trims and new colours. The overall cabin comfort will improve on the new model. Given the current Creta’s already strong feature list, the focus will likely be on improving user experience rather than simply adding more equipment. Even so, we may see the addition of a number of new features, details of which remain under the wraps for now.

A key upgrade lies under the skin. The next-generation Hyundai Creta will move to the newer, third-generation K3 platform. This will replace the ageing K2 that underpins the outgoing model. This shift will result in the car growing in size. The new Creta will come with a more spacious cabin. The rear seats will offer more leg room. More significantly, the K3 platform will offer higher structural rigidity, and improve safety and crashworthiness.
The next generation is expected to retain the outgoing Creta’s engine lineup- 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel. These will likely be updated for better efficiency, refinement, and emissions compliance. In the future, a new 1.5L strong hybrid engine is also expected to join the lineup.
