Maruti Suzuki is the largest car manufacturer in India, and they have a variety of models spread across different segments. One of the fastest-growing segments, not just in India but around the world, is SUVs. Looking at the rising demand, Maruti Suzuki has now decided to launch not one but seven new SUVs in the market over the next five to six years.

Maruti Suzuki currently offers 19 car models in the Indian market, spread across different segments. It starts with the Maruti Alto K10 and goes all the way up to the Maruti Invicto. By expanding its presence in the SUV segment, Maruti Suzuki aims to strengthen its position, as this segment is constantly growing in India and globally.
According to data released by Maruti Suzuki, the share of SUVs in the Indian market has increased from 26.5% in 2019 to 54.7% in 2024. Currently, Maruti offers the Brezza, Grand Vitara, Fronx, Jimny, and Victoris as SUVs in its lineup. Maruti says that the growth of the SUV segment is closely linked to rising incomes. According to the data shared, the number of households in the middle-income bracket is expected to rise sharply, which would result in increased demand for SUVs.

Maruti is currently working on several new models and technologies for its vehicles. Here is a list of SUVs that Maruti Suzuki will be launching in the coming years:
Maruti Suzuki mentioned last year that they are working on an affordable hybrid technology, which will be offered in future models. The Fronx will be the first model in Maruti’s lineup to get this technology. This will be a series hybrid, which is different from the regular strong hybrid available in other Maruti models.

Maruti Suzuki will use its 1.2-litre Z12E three-cylinder petrol engine as the base for this series hybrid powertrain. In this system, the engine acts as a generator that continuously recharges the battery, while the battery powers the electric motor that drives the wheels. Maruti is also expected to make minor cosmetic changes to the Fronx to give it a fresh look.
Maruti Suzuki launched the Grand Vitara in the market back in 2022. The SUV has been around for a while now, and there is a possibility that Maruti might introduce an update. The SUV is expected to get minor cosmetic changes while remaining mechanically unchanged.

Maruti Suzuki has been testing the Brezza facelift for quite some time. Test mules have been spotted on multiple occasions, and it looks like the Brezza will receive minor updates on the outside, along with a 6-speed manual gearbox paired with the same engine. We may also see a larger infotainment screen.
While the sub-4-meter SUV segment is gaining popularity, the micro-SUV segment below it is also getting a lot of attention. Maruti is said to be working on a micro SUV, internally codenamed Y43. It will be Maruti’s entry-level SUV and will compete with the likes of the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter.

This is another small SUV that Maruti is expected to bring to the Indian market. It is likely to be based on the Suzuki Hustler, which is sold internationally. The Hustler is a sub-4-meter SUV and is expected to be positioned between the Brezza and the Y43.
Apart from the SUVs mentioned above, Maruti is expected to bring two more new models to the market. One of them is likely to be a 7-seater SUV, which will compete with the likes of the Mahindra XUV 7XO. Maruti might also introduce a CBG (Compressed Bio Gas) version of its popular Victoris SUV.
