Maruti Suzuki recently entered the Indian electric vehicle market with its first product, the e Vitara. This particular SUV is slowly becoming popular, and now the company has revealed its plans to launch more EVs in the country. Of these upcoming EVs, one of them will be a small, affordable EV hatchback. Now, although the company has not revealed any specific details about this vehicle, recently a few renderings of an EV tall-boy hatchback/micro-SUV based on the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso have been shared online.
These renderings of what the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso could look like in an EV avatar have been shared on Instagram by SRK Designs on their page. As per the creator, this particular model is based on the S-Presso, which is currently the most affordable car that anyone can buy in India. The creator has also stated that it has been transformed into a more rugged-looking EV hatchback/micro-SUV.

Starting off at the front end, like most other EVs in the market, this particular vehicle has been given a blanked-off grille with a Suzuki emblem in the centre. Additionally, it gets premium dual-projector LED headlights with LED DRLs, which also get a connecting light bar in the middle. The front bumper has been kept very rugged and boasts a large silver skid plate in the middle and fog lamps on either side. To some, it may give off a similar front fascia vibe as the Ford Mustang Mach-E electric SUV.

Apart from the front end, the rendered version has also been showcased from the side as well. We can note that it has been given roof rails, chunky wheel arch claddings, and claddings on the lower parts of the doors. There is a silver skid plate on the side as well. Additionally, it also gets multispoke diamond-cut alloy wheels and a flush-type door handle. Overall, the tall-boy design gives it a micro-SUV-like stance.

Finally, moving to the rear end of this particular Maruti Suzuki EV hatchback, it can be seen that it has been given a set of pentagonal LED taillights with a connecting light bar in the middle. To some, this design could give a flashing thought of the newly facelifted Tata Punch.ev. Additionally, there is a black chunky rear bumper with a silver skid plate as well.

Apart from the exterior, the creator has also shared a rendering of the interior of this EV hatchback. It can be noted that the overall dashboard layout is similar to the S-Presso. However, it has been given a modern and large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay, central AC vents with orange accents, a digital instrument gauge, a steering wheel with controls, an automatic climate control system, two cup holders, and a rotary knob in the middle to select the drive mode.

At the moment, Maruti Suzuki has not revealed any details of the upcoming affordable EV hatchback. However, most likely it will be offered with smaller battery pack options. They could range between 25 to 35 kWh and offer a real-world driving range of around 200 to 250 km on a single full charge. Most likely, Maruti Suzuki will be launching this EV hatchback within the price range of Rs 10 to 14 lakh.
