Mahindra showcased its Vision S concept to the public last year. Even before the official concept was revealed, spy shots of the Vision S had already started surfacing online. It is expected to be one of the first SUVs from Mahindra's next generation of vehicles and will play a key role in the brand's future product lineup. Mahindra is currently testing the Vision S extensively, and we have now come across a new video that gives us a clear view of one of the most sought-after features among SUV buyers - a panoramic sunroof.
The video has been shared by Autogram on its Instagram page. In the clip, we see not one but two Mahindra Vision S test mules being driven through the narrow streets of the hill station of Mussoorie in Dehradun. The video was shot from the balcony of a building located right next to the road on which the SUVs were passing.
It is evident from the video that other road users were also curious about the vehicle and were seen observing it as it drove by. From this angle, we get a clear view of the front and roof of the SUV. The Vision S has a boxy design, and Mahindra appears to be working hard to ensure that the production version retains the visual appeal of the concept model showcased earlier.

Looking at the front, we can see the round headlamps neatly positioned on either side of the grille. The grille is expected to feature Mahindra's new logo at the centre along with vertical slats. The design of the grille, bumper, and bonnet makes the round headlamps appear as if they are protruding slightly from the body.
The bonnet remains heavily camouflaged, but it appears that Mahindra will opt for a clean and uncluttered design. One of the biggest highlights visible in the video is the massive panoramic sunroof. It covers a significant portion of the roof, while towards the rear we can spot an integrated roof spoiler along with a conventional antenna. We hope Mahindra offers a shark-fin antenna on the production version.
The tailgate-mounted spare wheel, which completes the rugged SUV look of the Vision S, has also been retained. If you look closely, you can also spot the camera and sensors mounted on the windshield, indicating the presence of ADAS features.

The Mahindra Vision S is expected to be a sub-4-metre SUV. It is based on Mahindra's new NU-IQ platform. The NU-IQ is a flexible, multi-energy vehicle architecture developed by Mahindra & Mahindra and is designed to underpin a new generation of global SUVs and electric vehicles. The platform is also capable of supporting hybrid powertrains.
The Vision S will be among the first examples of Mahindra's new-age SUVs, combining rugged exterior styling with premium features on the inside. The SUV is expected to come loaded with features in order to remain competitive in the segment.
The Vision S is likely to be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. Both powertrains are expected to be available with manual and automatic transmission choices. Mahindra is also expected to introduce hybrid and all-electric versions of the Vision S at a later stage. The launch of the Vision S is expected to take place in 2027, while the SUV might get officially unveiled towards the end of this year.
