We all know that cars are depreciating assets, which means that over the ownership tenure, they lose a chunk of their value. Now, if you are someone who wants to make sure that you do not lose a lot of money while buying a new vehicle, you should opt for cars with a buyback program. Well, now, if you want to know which ICE cars in India are being offered with buyback plans, then you are at the right spot.

Volkswagen recently launched its newly facelifted Taigun in India with one of the most attractive ownership packages. The company has announced that it is now offering an assured buyback value of up to 75 percent on this compact SUV. Currently, it is one of the highest buyback offers available on any mainstream ICE vehicle in India.
As per Volkswagen, customers can receive up to 75 percent of the original ex-showroom value after three years of ownership. However, this is applicable only if the vehicle has covered up to 30,000 km. It has to be noted that the buyback value is calculated based on the original ex-showroom price of the vehicle and not the on-road price, which consists of insurance, RTO charges, and others.
Volkswagen India has launched this program to make the ownership of the Taigun more predictable and reduce concerns regarding future depreciation. Apart from the assured buyback, Volkswagen is also offering residual value assurance and simplified upgrade options for existing customers.
The Volkswagen Taigun is currently priced from Rs 10.99 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 19.29 lakh. It is offered with a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, which makes 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque. This engine comes offered with a manual gearbox or an 8-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can also opt for the more powerful 1.5-litre TSI petrol motor, which makes 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque. It only comes paired with the 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.

Next on the list is the Jeep Compass. Unlike Volkswagen, Jeep offers its assured buyback program as part of its comprehensive Confidence 7 ownership package. This package has been introduced to make ownership of Jeep vehicles more hassle-free and financially secure.
Under the Confidence 7 program, Compass buyers can receive up to 60 percent buyback value of the original ex-showroom price. This buyback value is available after a maximum ownership period of three years. Once again, it has to be noted that the final value will depend on factors including the vehicle age, mileage, and overall condition.
The Confidence 7 package for the Compass has been priced at Rs 41,926. However, in addition to the buyback benefit, buyers also receive other additional advantages. These include a 7-year extended warranty, 7-year roadside assistance coverage, and a long-term annual maintenance contract. Jeep claims that customers can save up to 33 percent on service and maintenance costs through this package.
Another notable benefit is the Courtesy Edge program. If the vehicle remains at the workshop for more than two days, Jeep will provide customers with a replacement vehicle or arrange taxi services. Buyers also get a Jeep merchandise voucher worth Rs 2,000.
The Jeep Compass is currently priced between Rs 17.99 lakh and Rs 30.70 lakh. It comes powered by a 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine, which makes 168 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Buyers can also choose between front-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations depending on the variant.

The Jeep Meridian is the company's flagship SUV, which is locally assembled in India. Now, like the Compass, it also gets the Confidence 7 ownership package. The Meridian also gets offered with an assured buyback value of up to 60 percent of the original ex-showroom price after a maximum ownership period of three years.
The exact buyback value depends on factors including mileage, vehicle condition, and age. The package costs Rs 47,024 for Meridian buyers and includes all the benefits available with the Compass. Customers also receive a 7-year extended warranty, 7-year roadside assistance, annual maintenance package, priority service support, and Courtesy Edge benefits. Jeep also offers a merchandise voucher worth Rs 2,000 under this package.
Currently the Jeep Meridian starts around Rs 24 lakh and goes up to Rs 38 lakh for the top variants. It is powered by the same 2.0-litre diesel engine that is offered in the Compass. This motor produces 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque and comes paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The Meridian also gets front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options as well.
Recently, Jeep India has also launched the Meridian Track Edition. This special edition model gets a number of cosmetic upgrades, including piano black exterior elements, special Track Edition decals and badges, dual-tone alloy wheels, and a more premium interior theme. It also comes loaded with features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, powered tailgate, 360-degree camera, Alpine audio system, and Level 2 ADAS.
