Hyundai has launched the facelifted Verna sedan in six broad trims- HX2, HX4, HX6, HX6+, HX8 and HX10. The ex-showroom prices start at Rs 10.98 lakh and go up to Rs 18.25 lakh for the range-topping trim. Now, a video walkaround of the second-base trim- HX4 has surfaced online.
Shared on the channel Rayan’s Garage, this video shows the HX4 trim in deep detail. With an ex-showroom price of Rs 12.25 lakh, this trim would appeal to the budget-conscious buyer. It also features decent kit levels. The pre-facelift Verna used to be offered in four broad trims- EX, S, SX, and SX (O). The introduction of more trims has made it easier for the company to distribute features and tech more evenly on the new model.
The host starts by stating that the HX4 is a value-packed trim. He then talks about the powertrain details. The HX4 is only available with the 1.5L MPi, naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 113hp and 144Nm. Mated to it is a manual transmission. Automatic transmissions are only offered from the HX6 trim onwards.

The host then explains the vehicle’s design in detail. Several changes can be spotted in the design of the front fascia. The facelift introduced a new grille, and headlamp-cluster to the sedan. The front bumper is also new. Higher variants get sleek LED headlamps, halogen indicators, and connected LED tail lamps.

The HX4 trim, however, comes with projector headlamps and halogen indicators. The projector is placed where the indicator strip is placed on higher trims. The indicator sits near the projector unit. The low-beam can be seen below these. HX4 also has full-width LED DRLs, rear spoiler, and shark-fin antenna. It rides on 15-inch Silver-finished alloy wheels. Higher trims get 16-inch units. The silhouette remains the same as those of higher trims.
The host also shows the vehicle’s boot. It can accommodate 528 litres. He highlights the fact that the inside of the trunk lacks insulation- a clear cost-cutting attempt. There is, however, a boot lamp offered.

The video then shows the car’s cabin design and feature list. It has a dual-tone Black-Beige colour scheme. You’ll see a lot of hard plastics inside, even though the interior looks premium. First, we get to see the rear seat. It seems to have ample room. It is in fact, the widest car in its segment and also has the longest wheelbase among rivals. We can see a rear arm rest, rear AC vents and a single type-C charging port.
The HX4 trim comes with Hyundai’s new-age, four-spoke steering wheel with the Morse code (Four-dot) logo. It can be adjusted for reach and rake. The overall fit and finish and quality levels are good.

This trim gets a smaller 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster with a colour TFT MID (Multi Information Display). Dongle-based wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto are also on offer here. Instead of the top-spec’s 8-speaker BOSE premium audio system, this trim gets front and rear speakers. Hyundai has, however, given it steering-mounted audio and telephony controls and voice recognition.
Higher trims of the new Verna come with 10.25-inch central touchscreen and 10.25-inch full-digital instrument cluster. You also get a sunroof on the HX4 trim- something which a lot of people will appreciate.
Additionally, features like Idle stop & go (ISG), single-zone automatic climate control, cooled glove box, LED map and room lamps, and cruise control are also offered on this trim.
