Honda just launched the updated City in the market. During the launch, Honda hinted that they are now stepping up their game in India and will be launching new and interesting products in our market. They had recently admitted that their previous strategies had not worked as planned and are now coming up with a new one for our market. As part of this new strategy, Honda now plans to launch not one or two but six cars in the market. What are those? Let’s find out.

Honda is currently working on a new electric SUV, and the same is being tested on our roads too. It is currently being called the Zero Alpha, and this is an EV built from scratch. The EV is expected to get a boxy yet futuristic exterior design with features that one usually sees in cars of this segment.
The SUV is expected to come with 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs and a real-world range of 450 to 500 km. The Honda 0 Alpha EV is expected to be priced between Rs 17 lakh and Rs 25 lakh.

Honda’s only SUV in the Indian market, the Elevate, was launched back in 2023. Amid rising competition, Honda is now working on a facelift for the Elevate SUV. Earlier, Honda had plans to launch an electric version of the Elevate, but due to multiple reasons, they shelved those plans and now intend to launch a hybrid version instead.
The Honda Elevate Hybrid will largely retain the same exterior design as the current model, with minor changes to the front and rear. It may also come with additional features compared to the existing version.
Coming to the hybrid technology, Honda is reportedly working on a more affordable, efficient, and lightweight system. It remains to be seen whether the Elevate will get this new setup or continue with the existing 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle engine paired with the hybrid system seen in the City.

Honda unveiled the all-new ZR-V in India during the City launch. The ZR-V will be launched in the coming months, and soon after that, we expect to see another CBU from Honda in the form of the Prelude coupe.
It is a sporty hybrid two-door coupe that comes with a 2.0-litre petrol engine. The sports coupe generates around 200 Ps and 315 Nm of torque. It would be the most expensive and quickest Honda in India when launched.

While we know about the first three products, the next three models are less known. The fourth Honda model to make its way to the Indian market is going to be the Accord. It was previously offered as a CBU before being discontinued. As per the new strategy, it will be offered as a hybrid car. The Honda Accord is a premium four-door sedan, and the car would come with a long list of premium features.
Honda is yet to release exact details about this sedan. The Accord Hybrid is expected to be sold as a CBU or a CKD in India.

Honda will also bring back the Civic sedan in a hybrid avatar. We got the 10th-generation Civic, which was discontinued in 2021. This time around, Honda will be bringing the sedan in a hybrid avatar and is likely to sell it as a CBU or CKD. This would allow Honda to offer a balance between performance and efficiency.

The sixth model in this lineup is the CR-V. Honda has offered the CR-V in the market multiple times, but it has never picked up among buyers due to its low efficiency and intense competition. Honda might bring back the CR-V and position it above the ZR-V. It should be noted that a final decision on launching these three models completely depends on the success of the ZR-V.
