The Japanese automotive giant Honda has recently become the talk of the town after launching the new 2026 City facelift. Now the company has made it to the headlines once again, as it has now officially confirmed that it will be launching more than 10 new models in India by 2030. The company has stated that India is now among its top three global priority markets alongside Japan and North America. So without any delay, here is a detailed look at all the upcoming Honda models which will shape the brand’s future in India.

Honda Cars India President and CEO Takashi Nakajima has recently revealed that the company is preparing for an aggressive growth phase in India. Honda had earlier announced that it plans to launch 10 new models by 2030; however, the company has now confirmed that the number has gone beyond 10 models. Honda has also highlighted that it is planning six launches in the current fiscal year itself, which includes the newly launched City facelift and the newly unveiled ZR-V Hybrid SUV.
The company has also admitted that its previous global-first strategy for India did not work properly. And it was because the products were not aligned with the needs of Indian customers. As a result, Honda is now shifting its focus towards India-specific products and highly localized models. It has been stated that the Japanese automaker Honda will now mainly focus on the two fastest-growing segments in India, which include the sub-4 metre SUV category and the mid-size SUV category.
Honda has also confirmed that its future lineup will include petrol, strong hybrid, and electric vehicles. Of these, a number of future models will be based on Honda’s all-new PF2 modular platform, which has been specifically engineered to support ICE, hybrid, and EV powertrains. This new platform is around 90 kg lighter than Honda’s current architecture. It will also offer better rigidity, improved battery packaging, and higher localization.

The first major upcoming launch from Honda will be the premium ZR-V Hybrid SUV. This SUV was recently unveiled in India, and it is expected to launch by the end of 2026. The ZR-V will come to India as a CBU import, and it will become one of the most premium Honda SUVs in the country.
In terms of design, the ZR-V will boast sleek LED projector headlamps, integrated DRLs, clamshell bonnet, large front grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, and wraparound LED tail lamps. The SUV measures 4,568 mm in length and offers a wheelbase of 2,657 mm. It also boasts more than 1,000 litres of boot space with the rear seats folded.
On the inside, Honda will offer a premium all-black cabin with soft-touch materials. Features will include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 12-speaker Bose audio system, 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, powered front seats, 360-degree camera, and Honda Sensing ADAS with 11 airbags.
Powering the SUV will be a 2.0-litre strong hybrid petrol engine, which will produce 184 PS and 315 Nm of torque. This engine will come mated to an eCVT gearbox, and AWD technology is also expected. Honda has claimed that the SUV can do 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.9 seconds and still offer 22.80 kmpl efficiency. Pricing is expected to be around Rs 50 lakh to Rs 60 lakh.

Honda has also officially confirmed that it will enter the Indian passenger EV market with the all-new 0 Alpha EV SUV. The road testing of this SUV has already commenced in India, and it is expected to launch in 2027. The 0 Alpha has replaced the Elevate EV project, which was previously under development.
The 0 Alpha EV will feature a very futuristic design with a boxy silhouette, vertically stacked LED lights, connected LED strip, illuminated Honda logo, and 19-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels. At the rear, it will feature a distinctive U-shaped LED tail lamp setup.
On the inside, Honda is expected to offer a spacious flat-floor layout along with premium interiors and connected features. Its list of features will most likely include a large infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and advanced safety technology.
The SUV is expected to come offered with 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery pack options, and the real-world driving range could be around 450 to 500 km. Reports suggest that it will use a single-motor front-wheel-drive setup. Pricing is expected to be between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh.

Honda is also planning to launch the iconic Prelude in India. The sixth-generation Prelude was recently showcased in Japan, and it is expected to launch in India later in 2026. This sporty coupe will become Honda’s only two-door car in India, and it will arrive as a limited-volume CBU import.
The Prelude shares a number of parts with the Civic Type R and will come powered by a 2.0-litre petrol-hybrid engine paired with dual electric motors. This setup will produce around 200 hp and 315 Nm of torque. The Prelude will become a halo product for Honda in India, and pricing is expected to be around Rs 80 lakh ex-showroom.

Honda has also officially confirmed that it is developing a brand-new sub-4 metre SUV for India, which will launch by 2028. This SUV will rival the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
This upcoming SUV is extremely important for Honda because the sub-4m SUV segment is currently among the highest-selling segments in India. Honda currently does not have any SUV in this segment after the discontinuation of the WR-V.
At the moment, Honda has not revealed many details about this SUV. However, it is expected to offer a feature-loaded cabin, strong safety package, connected car technology, and aggressive pricing. Features like panoramic sunroof, ADAS, and turbo petrol engines could also be offered. Pricing is expected to be around Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.

It has also been confirmed by Honda that it will be launching an all-new Creta-rivalling SUV after 2028. This SUV will most likely replace the current Elevate in the future, as the current model has not managed to challenge the segment leaders such as the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, and Kia Seltos.
Reports have suggested that Honda could offer this SUV with multiple powertrain options, including a turbo petrol, strong hybrid, and EV setup. Compared to the current Elevate, this SUV is expected to get a much more premium cabin, connected technology, ADAS, and a more feature-loaded interior.

Honda is also preparing to launch the all-new sixth-generation City sedan, which is expected to make its debut in 2028. Unlike the current facelift, this will be a complete ground-up redesign, and it will utilise Honda’s all-new PF2 modular platform.
The new City is expected to feature a futuristic design inspired by Honda’s 0 Series concepts with a sporty low-slung stance, aerodynamic body, and coupe-like roofline. Honda is also expected to heavily localize the hybrid powertrain in order to reduce costs and make hybrid technology more affordable.
Powertrain options are expected to include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid setup paired with an eCVT gearbox. There are also reports that Honda could introduce a turbo petrol engine as well.

Honda is also working on the development of the second-generation Elevate SUV, which is expected to enter production by late 2027 or early 2028. The next-generation Elevate will ditch the current modified City platform and shift to the all-new PF2 modular platform.
One of the biggest highlights of the second-generation Elevate will be the introduction of a next-generation strong hybrid powertrain. Honda is reportedly targeting a real-world fuel efficiency figure of around 26 to 28 kmpl with this SUV.
The design of the new Elevate is also expected to become a lot more futuristic with connected LED light bars, slimmer LED headlamps, larger grille, and a more aerodynamic body shape. It has to be noted that it will be different from the above-mentioned Creta rival.

The company will also launch a brand-new flagship 7-seater SUV, which will become the first vehicle based on the PF2 platform. This SUV will directly rival the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari in India. Powertrain options are expected to include a 1.5-litre petrol engine, strong hybrid setup, and an EV version at a later stage.
Honda is also expected to offer premium features like ADAS, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, and a large touchscreen infotainment system. India will reportedly become the global production and export hub for this SUV.

Honda is also expected to eventually develop the next-generation Amaze sedan with improved hybrid compatibility and more premium features. Although the next-generation Amaze is still some time away, Honda’s future PF2 architecture will most likely support this sedan as well.
The future Amaze is expected to offer better fuel efficiency, improved safety technology, more premium interiors, and stronger localization in order to keep pricing competitive.

Last on the list is a mystery car from Honda. At the moment, there are no reports of what it could be. However, we believe it will be an affordable electric car, as the company so far does not have an affordable electric car in the lineup.
