Honda Cars India has launched the facelifted City sedan. Interestingly, the starting price remains the same as before- Rs 11.99 lakh, ex-showroom. It is available in four broad trims- SV, V, ZX, and ZX+. Unlike most facelifts, the updated City comes with noteworthy design changes. Here are a few images showing the exterior and interior designs of the new City.

This is the second facelift to the fifth generation City. Honda hasn’t missed the opportunity to pump more visual appeal into the sedan with the update. Substantial updates have been made to the exterior design. These align with Honda’s ‘Sharpen’ philosophy.

The front fascia now looks fresh. It comes with sleek projector LED headlamps. On the facelift, these are standard across variants, and come with sleek, eyebrow-like LED DRLs.
There’s also a full-width LED positioning lamp on offer, connecting DRLs on either side. This highlights the width of the car and increases the road presence. The facelifted City has also become the longest car in its segment, measuring 4594mm in length.

The grille has been redesigned on the new model. It now gets honeycomb inserts and has a Blacked-out finish. This adds more visual depth to the design. The front bumper has also been redesigned completely. It now has a sharp styling with a stylish air dam and blacked-out triangular sections on either side. On the new car, the bonnet has a clamshell design and well-defined character lines,

The silhouette remains largely unchanged. The belt line and roof line are familiar. The facelift, however, rides on new aero-blade diamond-cut alloy wheels. These get a dark clear coat finish.
Changes at the rear are subtle but significant. The tail lamps now feature a clear lens design with a unique dark theme. There is a boot lip spoiler. The rear bumper has been redesigned as well. It now gets a unique ‘Matrix-mesh’ garnish.

The colour palette has also been revised. The facelifted City is available in six colours- (a new) Crystal Black Pearl, Obsidian Blue, Lunar Silver Metallic, Radiant Red metallic, Meteoroid Grey Metallic and Platinum White Pearl.

Unlike the pre-facelift model that used to come with a Beige and Black interior colour scheme, the updated City gets an Ivory and Black cabin colour combination that feels more luxurious. You will also find several premium trims and finishes in various places of this design.

The feature list has also been revised on the facelifted model. It now gets a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car also gets a fully automatic climate control system with ventilated seats at the front and rear AC vents.

Other features include a wireless charger, 8-speaker premium surround sound system, a single-pane sunroof, PM 2.5 cabin air purification system, auto-dimming IRVM, electronic parking brake and ambient lighting.
The connected car system and telematics have also been improved on the updated model. The sedan continues to feature Honda Sensing ADAS suite on higher trims.

There are no mechanical changes on the facelifted City. It continues with the same two engine options as before- 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5L strong hybrid which uses a 1.5L Atkinson cycle petrol engine and a hybrid setup. The former makes 119hp and 145Nm while the latter has a combined torque output of 253Nm.
The naturally aspirated petrol engine comes with two gearbox options- 5-speed manual and a 7-speed CVT. The strong hybrid is only available with an e-CVT transmission.
