Even though SUVs are currently the rage in India, there are still a number of automakers offering sedans. Now, to excite sedan lovers in the country, there are five new sedans which will be launched in the coming months. So, without any more wastage of your time, here are the details of five upcoming sedans in India.

The first sedan on this list is the iconic Honda City's facelifted iteration. Recently, an image of a fully undisguised Honda City was shared online, which has made everyone excited. This highly anticipated sedan is set to make its debut on May 22.
This time around, Honda has given the new City a major update in terms of styling. Starting off with the exterior updates, the new City facelift will now get a redesigned front fascia with a much wider gloss black grille. It will also feature new sleeker LED headlamps and a revised front bumper with vertically stacked fog lamps.
Another one of the most noticeable changes will be the Honda logo’s position. It will now sit on the bonnet instead of being integrated inside the grille. Apart from the exterior updates, Honda will also make the City more feature-loaded. It is expected to get a new freestanding 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, a powered driver seat, and an updated ADAS suite.
Powering the new City facelift will most likely be the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated i-VTEC petrol engine. This motor currently produces 121 PS and 145 Nm of torque. As for transmission options, it will include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic gearbox. Pricing of the updated City is expected to start from around Rs 12.5 lakh.

In addition to the standard City facelift, Honda will also launch the updated City Hybrid facelift in India on May 22. In terms of styling, it will remain very similar to the standard petrol version. However, it will get revised bumpers, new alloy wheels, and an updated interior theme. Honda is also expected to offer a few additional premium features on the hybrid version.
These could include an electronic parking brake with an auto hold function along with a few more convenience features. The biggest highlight of the City Hybrid facelift will continue to be its strong hybrid powertrain. This sedan will still come powered by the same 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine, which will come paired with two electric motors.
Its combined power output from this setup will be 126 PS and 253 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be handled by an e-CVT gearbox. Pricing is expected to start from around Rs 20.5 lakh.

Tata Motors is also preparing to launch the facelifted version of the Tigor.ev in India. This updated electric sedan’s launch is expected in the second half of 2026 after the launch of the Tiago.ev facelift. The Tigor.ev facelift will receive major mechanical upgrades similar to the Tiago.ev. The main update will be the introduction of a new 30 kWh battery pack.
The company is also expected to switch to new prismatic battery cells sourced from Gotion. These cells will be more energy-dense compared to the current cylindrical battery cells, and they will help in increasing the range. The updated Tigor.ev is expected to offer more than 350 km of real-world range on a single charge.
Apart from this, the sedan will also get Tata’s new 6-in-1 i-drive motor, which is currently offered with the Punch.ev. This motor is expected to produce around 80 to 88 PS and 140 Nm of torque. In terms of styling, the updated Tigor.ev will get a redesigned front fascia, slimmer LED DRLs, and revised bumpers.
On the inside, Tata Motors is expected to offer a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and wireless charging. Pricing of the updated Tigor.ev will most likely start from around Rs 13 lakh.

Over the last few months, a few different test mules of the Skoda Slavia facelift have been spotted testing in India. From these test mules, it has been noted that most of the silhouette of the sedan will remain unchanged. However, the front and rear sections are expected to get a number of changes.
The Slavia facelift is expected to get connected LED lights at both the front and rear ends, similar to the updated Kushaq facelift. The front grille is also expected to become flatter compared to the current model. Like all facelifts, it is also expected to get new alloy wheel designs and fresh exterior colour options.
On the inside, the sedan is expected to feature some minor updates, which will include a new infotainment UI and a new color scheme. There are reports that have suggested that it could get a panoramic sunroof. Mechanically, the sedan will continue with the same 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines. The 1.0-litre TSI engine currently produces 114 PS and 178 Nm.
Meanwhile, the more powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine produces 148 bhp and 250 Nm of torque and comes paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. One major update will be the offering of a new 8-speed automatic gearbox for the 1.0-litre engine. It will replace the current 6-speed automatic unit. Pricing is expected to be around the same as the current model.

Like the Slavia, the Volkswagen Virtus will also be getting a facelift. Recently, this updated sedan has also been spotted testing in India. It has been noted that it will be getting a number of cosmetic updates, including new and sleeker LED headlamps with segmented LED DRLs, a revised front grille, and a redesigned bumper.
Volkswagen is also expected to offer illuminated VW logos at the front and rear to add to the premium appearance. As for the interior, the Virtus facelift is expected to get updated upholstery and trims along with a digital instrument gauge cluster, as seen on the Taigun facelift. As for the powertrain, it will get the same 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines.
Transmission options will include the standard 6-speed manual gearbox. However, Volkswagen will also offer the Virtus with the new 8-speed automatic gearbox on the lower variants. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine will continue with the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
