The electric vehicle segment in India has been growing steadily over the last few years. While 5-seater SUVs and affordable EVs dominate the market, another segment is slowly gaining momentum - 7-seater electric vehicles. Several brands are now planning to enter this space with new products. Here is a list of five such upcoming electric vehicles expected to launch in the market soon.
The first electric seven-seater on this list is the VinFast Limo Green. VinFast recently launched its electric MPV, the MPV 7, in India at Rs 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Earlier this year, the company also announced plans to introduce its ride-hailing service, Green and Smart Mobility (GSM), in India.

Now that the MPV 7 has been launched, VinFast is expected to introduce a more affordable or fleet-focused version of this MPV, likely to be called the Limo Green. This version will offer fewer features compared to the standard MPV 7.
In terms of battery and range, the Limo Green is expected to use the same 60.13 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of around 517 km.
Tata launched the Harrier EV last year, and we already know that an electric version of the Safari is also on the way. As per recent reports, the Safari EV is expected to launch around the festive season this year.

In terms of design, the Safari EV is expected to remain similar to the ICE version. Like the Harrier EV, it will not be a ground-up electric vehicle. This will be Tata’s first three-row electric SUV and is likely to become the brand’s flagship EV upon launch.
The Safari EV is expected to feature a closed front grille, revised bumpers, EV-specific alloy wheels, and an EV-themed cabin. It will also retain premium features such as leatherette upholstery, memory seats, a panoramic sunroof, seat ventilation, and more. Tata may also introduce a triple-display setup, similar to what was showcased in the Sierra concept.
The SUV is expected to be offered with 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery pack options. The larger battery, as seen in the Harrier EV, offers a claimed range of around 622–627 km, while the smaller one delivers around 538 km. Higher variants may also come with an AWD setup.
The Avinya concept was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. It is expected to be positioned as a premium EV and will not be sold through regular Tata dealerships. Instead, Tata plans to establish a separate sales network for the Avinya range.

The Tata Avinya X is expected to be a premium crossover available in 5-, 6-, and 7-seater configurations. It is expected to be nearly 5 metres long and will come equipped with advanced features beyond what we currently see in Tata models. Details about the battery, range, and powertrain are yet to be revealed.
Maruti Suzuki is reportedly working on an electric MPV for the Indian market, currently codenamed YMC. Being an EV, it is expected to use the same HEARTECT-e platform as the eVitara.

This upcoming MPV is expected to be larger than the Ertiga and will likely compete with models like the Kia Carens Clavis EV. While Maruti has not revealed many details yet, the YMC is expected to offer battery options similar to the eVitara, along with a comparable driving range.
The launch was initially expected by the end of this year, but delays related to the eVitara could push the timeline further.
As we know, Maruti Suzuki and Toyota share a strong partnership, with models like the Grand Vitara, Hyryder, and upcoming EVs being co-developed. The YMC eMPV is also expected to be part of this collaboration.

This means that once Maruti launches the YMC electric MPV, Toyota is likely to introduce its own version of the same vehicle. While both models will remain mechanically identical, they are expected to feature different exterior styling and branding.
