The demand for SUVs has been growing constantly in India and globally. Micro SUVs, sub-4-metre SUVs, and mid-size SUVs have slowly eaten into a huge chunk of sales from hatchbacks and sedans. Almost every manufacturer in the country is now focusing on SUVs, and there are a few brands that are offering SUVs that would make the enthusiast community happy. Here we have a list of five such sporty SUVs that are launching soon in the market.
Skoda’s most popular SUV in the Indian market currently is the Kylaq. This sub-4-metre SUV offers a great balance between comfort, performance, and looks. It is because of these reasons that Skoda was able to sell more than 50,000 units in just over a year since its launch.

Skoda will also bring a Sportline version of the Kylaq this year. It will be a sportier-looking variant with blacked-out elements. It will continue to use the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque. The engine will be offered with manual and automatic transmission options.
Skoda will be bringing the Kodiaq RS to India later this year. The RS variant will have an RS bumper, gloss-black elements on the grille, and many other areas instead of chrome, and so on.

The SUV will come with an all-black, sporty-looking interior with red accents, RS badging at multiple places, RS-specific sports seats, along with all the premium features like a panoramic sunroof, and so on. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine generating around 263 PS and 370 Nm of torque.

Nissan will be officially unveiling the Tekton SUV on July 9, 2026. The SUV comes with a different-looking exterior design from the Duster. It would look a lot like the Nissan Patrol. While the exterior looks different, the cabin and the features that the Tekton offers are going to be the same.
It will be offered with the same 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates 163 PS and 280 Nm of peak torque. This engine will be offered with a manual and a 6-speed DCT gearbox. Apart from this, Nissan will also launch the SUV with a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, and a 1.8-litre hybrid engine will follow afterwards.

Tata is working on launching its newest electric SUV, the Sierra EV, in the coming months. The SUV will be based on an EV platform, but the exterior design will be inspired by the ICE version. The SUV will come in RWD and AWD versions. As this is an EV, it would be extremely powerful and would have a 0–100 km/h time of under 10 seconds. The SUV is expected to come with 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs, and the exact power and torque figures will be announced in the coming weeks.

We saw the latest iteration of the Avinya X concept at the Bharat Mobility Expo last year. The Avinya is Tata’s latest product to enter a range of premium EVs under a new and separate sales network.
The Tata Avinya X is a premium SUV available in 5-, 6-, and 7-seater configurations. It is expected to be nearly 5 metres long and will come equipped with advanced features beyond what we currently see in Tata models.
