With rising competition, Hyundai, like other brands, is working on introducing new and updated products. Like most manufacturers, Hyundai is also developing a hybrid system, which is expected to be introduced in its upcoming models. Here, we have a list of five Hyundai SUVs that are likely to get hybrid technology soon.
The first SUV in Hyundai’s lineup to receive hybrid technology is the Creta. Hyundai is currently working on the next-generation Creta, which is expected to be launched in the coming years.

The SUV will be based on a brand-new platform and, in terms of design, is expected to draw inspiration from models like the Ioniq 5. It is likely to feature a completely new front fascia, headlamps, alloy wheels, and tail lamps, along with revised dimensions.
The next-gen Creta will also get an all-new cabin with a mix of premium and practical features. It is expected to be offered with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine, along with both manual and automatic transmission options.
In addition to these, Hyundai is also expected to introduce a strong-hybrid setup based on the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine. This system is being specifically developed for India to keep costs competitive. The hybrid version of the Creta is expected to be launched around 2027.
Hyundai is also working on a new 7-seater SUV for the Indian market, currently known by the internal codename Ni1i. It is expected to rival models like the Mahindra XUV700.

Hyundai recently discontinued the Tucson, and this upcoming SUV may take its place in the lineup. There is also speculation that it could be Hyundai’s version of the Kia Sorento being tested for India.
The Ni1i SUV is expected to be a premium offering, equipped with all the features one would expect in this segment. It will likely be powered by a 1.5-litre strong-hybrid system. Like most hybrid setups, the petrol engine will be paired with an electric motor powered by a battery pack. This allows the SUV to run in EV mode at lower speeds and seamlessly switch to the petrol engine as speed increases, improving efficiency and reducing engine load.
Hyundai already offers a 7-seater SUV above the Creta in the form of the Alcazar, but it hasn’t been the most popular in its segment. The current-generation Alcazar is essentially an extended version of the Creta.

To make it more appealing, Hyundai is planning to introduce hybrid technology in the Alcazar as well. It is expected to use the same 1.5-litre strong-hybrid system, which is rumoured to produce a combined output of around 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque.
The Bayon-based compact SUV from Hyundai is currently being referred to by the internal codename BC4i. It is expected to be based on the same platform as the Bayon but will feature a more SUV-like design.

This model is likely to be the first Hyundai in India to get the new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. It will sit between the existing 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. This new engine is expected to be hybrid-ready and paired with an e-CVT gearbox.
Hyundai is also planning to introduce halo products in India, such as the Palisade. It is likely to be brought in as a CBU, which means it will be positioned as a premium offering.

The SUV is expected to be powered by a 2.5-litre hybrid petrol engine that produces around 329 PS and 459 Nm of torque. It is also claimed to offer a combined driving range of over 1,000 km.
Once launched, the Palisade is expected to compete with models like the Toyota Fortuner in the segment.
