The Mahindra XUV700 is one of the most popular 7-seater or three-row SUVs in its segment. It grabbed buyers’ attention with its premium looks and features, along with competitive pricing. After the mid-size SUV segment, we have now started seeing a lot of action in the three-row SUV segment as well. Here we have a list of seven such SUVs that are launching soon in the market and will challenge the XUV700.
MG Motor will be launching a rebadged version of the Wuling Starlight 560 SUV in the Indian market under a different name. It is a 7-seater SUV, and what makes it special is that it would be MG’s first plug-in hybrid model in the country. This crossover or SUV will rival the Mahindra XUV700.

The MG plug-in hybrid is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a 20.5 kWh battery that drives a front-mounted electric motor. This setup produces a combined output of 197 hp and 230 Nm of peak torque.
Renault will be launching the Renault Duster in the market later this year. After the Duster, Renault will also work on a 7-seater version of the SUV. It was recently spotted testing in India.

The SUV is based on the Dacia Bigster Concept and will use the same platform as the Duster. Since this is a 7-seater SUV, it will be slightly longer than the Duster and is likely to be offered with the 1.3-litre turbo petrol and the 1.8-litre strong hybrid petrol engine.
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. is working on the Nissan Tekton, which is Nissan’s version of the Duster. It will get an exterior design inspired by the Nissan Patrol SUV.

After the launch of the Tekton, Nissan will also introduce a 7-seater version of the SUV. It will be Nissan’s version of the Boreal SUV. Just like the Boreal, the Tekton 7-seater will also be offered with a 1.3-litre turbo petrol and a 1.8-litre hybrid engine.
In terms of features, both SUVs will share several elements such as a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, and more.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is a popular SUV in the mid-size SUV segment. It was jointly developed with Maruti Suzuki. Maruti launched the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara based on the same platform, and it looks like Toyota also has plans to expand the lineup.

A test mule that looked like a stretched version of the Hyryder was spotted testing recently. There is a possibility that Toyota is working on a 7-seater version of the Hyryder, which would be powered by the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated mild-hybrid and 1.5-litre strong-hybrid engines as the Grand Vitara and Hyryder.
The Mahindra Scorpio-N is another seven-seater SUV that is expected to be launched in an updated form later this year. We have been seeing test mules of the SUV for quite some time now.

It will receive a few cosmetic changes in the form of a revised bumper, grille, alloy wheels, and a bigger touchscreen infotainment system. It will continue to be powered by the same 2.2-litre turbo diesel and 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine options. Select diesel variants will also offer a 4x4 option.
Another 7-seater Chinese SUV that is expected to be launched in the market under the JSW Group brand is the Chery Tiggo 8. A patent for the SUV has been registered in India, and JSW is expected to launch it as their flagship model in the country.

Internationally, the Tiggo 8 is available in 5-, 6-, and 7-seater configurations. We will have to wait and see whether JSW launches it as a rival to the Mahindra XUV700.
It is available with features like a 15.6-inch infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, a 540-degree camera, 50W wireless charging, ambient lighting, ventilated seats, a built-in dash cam, a 12-speaker sound system, Level 2 ADAS, and more.
The Tiggo 8 is available internationally with both petrol and hybrid powertrains. There is a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre hybrid petrol engine on offer. It remains to be seen whether the Indian market will get either one of these options or both.
