Renault and its strategic partner Nissan have been struggling in India for a while now. However, they are now addressing this issue and are planning to launch a number of new models in the country. Of these, both automakers have planned to launch a total of 6 new SUVs which will be powered by strong hybrid powertrains. So, without any delay, here are the details of the 6 upcoming strong hybrid Renault and Nissan SUVs.

The first and most important strong hybrid model from the Renault-Nissan alliance will be the Renault Duster Hybrid. Currently, the deliveries of the new-generation Duster have commenced in India; however, the company is delivering only the turbo petrol variants. The strong hybrid version is expected to be launched around the festive season of 2026.
The Duster Hybrid will come equipped with a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, and it will be paired with a strong hybrid system and a 1.4 kWh battery pack. It will make 160 bhp and 172 Nm of torque. Renault claims that this setup will be one of the most fuel-efficient powertrains in its segment. One of the biggest highlights of this SUV will be its ability to run in pure EV mode for up to 80 percent of city driving conditions.
Bookings for the Duster Hybrid have already commenced, and reports suggest that the hybrid version has already been sold out for 2026. Once launched, it will take on the Maruti Grand Vitara Hybrid, Toyota Hyryder Hybrid, and upcoming hybrid SUVs from Hyundai and Kia.

Following the launch of the Duster Hybrid, Renault will launch the larger Boreal Hybrid SUV in India. This upcoming 7-seater SUV will be based on the same platform as the Duster but will boast a longer wheelbase. The additional space will help Renault in adding a third row of seats.
In terms of powertrain, the Boreal Hybrid is expected to be offered with the same 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and strong hybrid setup that will power the Duster Hybrid. The Boreal will target buyers looking for a spacious, family-oriented three-row SUV with a strong hybrid powertrain. Most likely, it will be launched in India in 2027 and will be priced in the range of Rs 18 to 25 lakh.

The last hybrid SUV from Renault will be the Bridger. With this SUV, Renault will enter the highly competitive sub-4-metre SUV segment with a strong hybrid powertrain. The company has already showcased the Bridger concept, and it is expected to become an important product for the brand as it will help in bringing in sales volume.
The Bridger will be based on the R-GMP architecture, which has been derived from the CMF-B platform. It has been developed by Renault India's engineering and research teams. The SUV is expected to offer a compact exterior design with rugged styling elements along with a large cabin space for passengers.
Its powertrain options are expected to include a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. In addition, Renault is expected to offer strong hybrid versions as well. Currently, the details of the exact hybrid setup have not been revealed yet. The Bridger is expected to arrive in India sometime next year.

Most likely by the middle of next year, Nissan will also launch the strong hybrid version of its soon-to-be-launched Tekton mid-size SUV. Like the Duster, the Tekton Hybrid will also boast the same 1.8-litre petrol hybrid setup with a battery pack. As for the difference, the major difference will be on the outside, as it will boast similar design cues to the flagship Nissan SUV, the Patrol.

After the launch of the standard Tekton and its strong hybrid version, Nissan is also expected to launch a larger 7-seater version of the SUV. At the moment, Nissan has not revealed whether the 7-seater version will retain the Patrol-inspired styling of the standard Tekton or adopt a design language closer to the Boreal.
However, the SUV is expected to offer a more premium cabin along with additional practicality. Powering this model will most likely be the same 1.8-litre strong hybrid powertrain. The combined output of this powertrain will remain the same, and it is expected to be around 160 bhp. The launch will most likely take place by the end of 2027 or by early 2028, and the price will be in the range of Rs 18 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.

The last upcoming hybrid model from the Renault-Nissan alliance will be Nissan's version of the Renault Bridger. Just like the Duster and Tekton, Nissan will also launch its own version of Renault's sub-compact SUV. The Nissan Bridger is expected to be launched around three to six months after the arrival of the Renault Bridger. It will share the same platform and much of the mechanicals but will feature Nissan-specific styling elements inside and out.
