
Most people, when they think of big 7-seat SUVs, think of bulky diesel SUVs. However, in the coming period, there will be a number of options in the 7-seater SUV segment which will be powered by strong hybrid powertrains. And today, we are presenting you with the list and details of 5 7-seater SUVs which will make their way to India in the coming months.

The first 7-seater SUV on this list will be the Jetour T2 plug-in hybrid. It will be launched by JSW Motors, which will be JSW Group’s own automotive company. The JSW Jetour T2 will be launched around the Diwali festive season this year. It will be imported via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kit route and assembled in India.
Internationally, it is sold as a 7-seater, and initially, India will be getting a 5-seater version. However, later, a 7-seater version will also be launched. The main highlight of the Jetour T2-based SUV will be its 1.5-litre petrol engine, which will also be accompanied by two electric motors and a 26.7 kWh battery pack.
Combined, this powertrain will make 375 bhp and 610 Nm of torque, and its electric-only range will be 139 km. As for the pricing, the Jetour T2 plug-in hybrid SUV will be priced in the range of Rs 20-30 lakh.

Based on the Wuling Starlight 560, JSW MG Motor India is planning to launch an affordable plug-in hybrid SUV, and it will be called the MG 520. It is expected to make its debut around October 2026 and will be launched as a 7-seater SUV. It will come powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a front-mounted electric motor, and a 20.5 kWh battery pack.
This powertrain, in total, will be able to make 197 bhp and 230 Nm of torque. And despite being a heavy SUV, it will be capable of performing a sprint of 0-100 kmph in just 9.7 seconds. The electric-only range of this SUV will be 100 km, and pricing will be in the range of Rs 15-20 lakh. Once launched, it will take on the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari, and others.

Although it was assumed that Toyota had scrapped the plan to launch the 7-seater version of its strong hybrid SUV, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, recent sightings of a test mule of this SUV have now suggested that it might be making its debut by the end of this year. The recently spotted mule was seen with longer overhangs and an overall stretched side profile.
The Urban Hyryder 7-seater will come equipped with the same 1.5-litre petrol engine and electric motor, making 116 bhp. It is believed that it will be getting an AWD system as well. Pricing of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder 7-seater will be around Rs 18-22 lakh.

Expected to make its debut by the end of this year, the Renault Boreal will be the 7-seater version of the recently launched new-generation Duster. This SUV will be offered with the 1.8-litre petrol engine, which will be accompanied by two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery pack.
In total, this powertrain will make around 160 bhp and 172 Nm of torque. Pricing of the Renault Boreal 7-seater strong hybrid will be around Rs 18-25 lakh. It will be taking on the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV 7XO, and the Tata Safari.

Based on the Nissan Tekton, the 7-seater version of this SUV will also be offering the same strong hybrid powertrain as the Renault Duster, Boreal, and its own sibling, the Tekton. It will also get the same 1.8-litre strong hybrid powertrain, and it could be making its debut before the end of this year. The only major difference will be in terms of the styling. Pricing range will be around Rs 18-25 lakh
