Toyota has become one of the most popular carmakers in India due to its bulletproof reliability and overall build quality. It is also known for offering a wide range of 7-seater models. The company, in order to make sure that it remains at the top, is gearing up for the launch of 5 new 7-seater cars in India. So, without any delay, here are the details of the 5 confirmed Toyota 7-seater models.

The Toyota Innova Crysta will be discontinued by March 2027 due to the upcoming CAFE 3 emission norms. Now, to replace the popular MPV, Toyota is reportedly working on a more affordable version of the Innova Hycross, which has internally been codenamed 840D. This new model will mainly target fleet operators and commercial buyers who currently prefer the Crysta.
Unlike the diesel-powered Crysta, the replacement is expected to come offered with the same strong-hybrid powertrain as the standard Hycross. Toyota is also considering a flex-fuel version, which has already been showcased at a number of events. The new hybrid MPV is expected to arrive around the same time the Crysta exits the market in early 2027.

Toyota is also working on the development of the next-generation Fortuner, and it is expected to make its global debut before the end of 2026. However, it will most likely reach Indian showrooms next year, in 2027. Its spy shots have shown that the new Fortuner will feature a redesigned front fascia with a larger grille, sleeker LED headlamps, a more aggressive bumper, and new LED tail lamps connected by a light bar.
The cabin is expected to get a major overhaul. This time around, it is expected to come equipped with a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and a number of premium features. Toyota could finally also offer Level 2 ADAS on the Fortuner. The SUV will continue to offer the same 2.8-litre diesel engine with a mild-hybrid version. It could also get a strong-hybrid petrol powertrain.

Toyota has also been testing a three-row, 7-seater version of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Recent spy shots have shown a stretched body with a longer rear overhang, which will help in accommodating an additional row of seats. The upcoming SUV is expected to take on the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 7XO, and Hyundai Alcazar.
One of the biggest highlights of the Hyryder 7-seater will be the availability of an all-wheel-drive system. Reports have suggested that the test mule was spotted with rear axle shafts; this means it could get Toyota and Maruti Suzuki's AWD setup. Powertrain options are expected to include the same 1.5-litre mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid petrol engines. As for the launch, this SUV could make its debut by late 2026 or early 2027.

The Toyota Rumion is also due for a major update. The facelifted model is expected to grow in length from 4.39 metres to 4.43 metres, as its rear overhang will be made longer. This increase will help in improving luggage space, more specifically in CNG variants, where the cylinder currently occupies a major portion of the boot.
Apart from the additional practicality, Toyota is expected to offer minor cabin updates and repositioned second-row seats. It could also improve safety with six airbags as standard across the range. The existing 1.5-litre petrol and CNG powertrains are expected to be on offer. The pricing could remain in the Rs 10 lakh to Rs 14 lakh range, and its launch could take place sometime towards the end of 2026.

Toyota is also working on a new all-electric three-row MPV based on Maruti Suzuki's upcoming YMC. This model will be Toyota's second EV for the Indian market and will be built on the HEARTECT-e platform, which also underpins the e Vitara and eBella.
The electric MPV is expected to boast a premium design on the outside and modern features on the inside. We can expect it to get a panoramic glass roof, a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, a wireless charger, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS. Battery options are expected to include 49 kWh and 61 kWh packs. Toyota's version of the YMC electric MPV could make its debut in India by 2028.
