As a surprise to a lot of people, Tata Motors has fully unveiled the exterior of its soon-to-be-launched hatchback, Tiago, and its electric version, the Tiago.ev, in India. Both of these models will be making their debut on May 28th. It can be noted that Tata Motors has given both of the ICE and EV Tiagos a much-needed and thorough exterior design refresh. They will also be getting a bunch of changes on the inside as well. However, that will be revealed in the coming days.
Tata Motors has officially shared the video teaser showing the complete exterior design of the Tiago ICE and Tiago.ev. First off, let's start with the exterior design details of the upcoming Tiago facelift. This time around, we can note that the entire front fascia has been changed. The Tiago facelift now boasts a much sleeker, sharper, and modern fascia.

Its main highlights include the newly added slim gloss black grille, which is now a single piece and does not have any air vents in it. The entire cooling system has been positioned lower, and there is a large air dam on the lower middle portion of the Tiago facelift. The front bumper has also been changed completely, and it now ditches the use of chrome, and the fog light housings have also been made a lot smaller.
Apart from these, the headlights are brand-new, and they have become sleeker and get an LED DRL eyelid, which adds to the premium appearance. Another notable change which we can easily observe is that this time around, the Tiago has been given a front camera as well, which will be part of the 360-degree camera that will be offered with this hatchback.
Moving to the side profile, Tata Motors has kept the overall silhouette the same as the current model. However, it now has a number of noticeable changes. Of these, the first which can be easily spotted is the addition of all-new 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, which boast a very complex design. Also, the wheel arches now get black cladding as well. Apart from these, we can also note the blacked-out ORVMs with a camera on the lower side for the 360 camera.

Tata Motors has also completely revamped the rear end of the Tiago facelift. We can observe that the LED taillights are completely new and feature a sleek LED strip light on top, and there are three individual vertical lines on the lower part. Now, even though there is a black plastic part connecting the two taillights, there is no connecting light bar in the middle. A lot of reports earlier reported that it could get connected LED headlights and taillights.
Also, the rear bumper has been changed, and it gets two parking sensors and a reverse camera. Currently, the interior design of the Tiago facelift has not been revealed. However, most likely it will be revealed in a few days. It will most likely feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, digital instrument gauge cluster, automatic climate control, and many others.
Powertrain options on the Tiago facelift will remain the same as the current model. These include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated Revotron petrol engine, which produces 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque. Its transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The iCNG version, which produces 75.5 PS and 96.5 Nm of torque, will also remain the same and feature the dual-cylinder setup.

Apart from the ICE version of the Tiago, Tata Motors has also fully revealed the Tiago.ev in the same video. It can be noted that, like the current model which is based on the standard model, this new updated model also has the same overall design. One of the major differences at the front is the body-colored closed-off grille, which is gloss black in the standard model.
Another big change is in the design of the front bumper of the Tata Tiago.ev. This time around as well, the central lower part of the bumper is finished in body color and features a small opening to cool the battery pack and the electric motor. Apart from these, the LED headlights and the front camera are the same.
As for the rear-end design, it looks almost the same as the standard model. It features the same LED taillights, integrated roof spoiler, shark fin antenna, rear wiper, washer and defogger setup, and others. The interior of the new Tiago.ev facelift will remain largely the same as the ICE model.

The big changes in the Tiago.ev, however, will be on the powertrain front. This time around, it has been reported that the 19 kWh battery pack will be discontinued, and the 24 kWh battery pack will become the standard offering. As for the Long Range variants, they will be getting a bigger 30 kWh battery pack offering a real-world range of around 366 km on a single full charge.
The updated model is also expected to use new prismatic battery cells, which will be sourced from Gotion. These cells will be more energy-dense than the current cylindrical cells. Apart from this, the Tiago.ev facelift is expected to get Tata’s new 6-in-1 i-drive motor, which will be borrowed from the Punch.ev. This motor will produce around 80 to 88 PS and 140 Nm of torque. We can also expect faster DC charging support above 50 kW.
