The Tata Tiago.ev is currently one of the most affordable and practical electric cars in India. Over the last few months, we have been seeing a number of new test mules of this EV hatchback’s facelifted iteration being tested on public roads. Now, recently, a few new important details of this upcoming model have been shared online. It has been reported that the new Tata Tiago.ev will be getting a bigger battery pack and increased power figures.
As per the reports, the soon-to-be-launched 2026 Tata Tiago.ev will be offered with two battery pack options. The old 19 kWh battery pack will be ditched, and the previous bigger 24 kWh pack will become the standard option. And now, the bigger battery pack will be a 30 kWh unit offering a range of around 366 km on a single charge.
The previous 19 kWh unit offered a claimed range of 223 km, and the 24 kWh battery pack option offered a 293 km range. It has also been reported that the new battery will most likely use prismatic cells, which will be sourced from Gotion. They will be more energy-dense than the cylindrical cells and also help in improving the range without any major platform changes.

Apart from the battery pack options, the new Tiago.ev facelift will also be offered with a new 6-in-1 i-drive motor. It will most likely be borrowed from the Tata Punch.ev, and it will integrate the motor, controller, and other components into one. It is believed that this new motor will make 80 to 88 PS of power and 140 Nm of torque. The current Tiago.ev makes 60 to 74 PS of power and 110 to 114 Nm of torque.
The updated Tiago.ev will also feature faster DC charging above 50 kW. It will help in reducing the charging time. As per the latest report, the Tiago.ev facelift is expected to make its debut by the end of May. Additionally, the same updates will also be offered with the Tata Tigor EV sedan as well.

Apart from the above-mentioned updates, the new Tiago.ev is expected to feature a new front fascia, a sleeker front grille design, and redesigned headlamps, which will be slimmer than the current model. It will possibly get a twin-barrel setup with LED DRLs integrated into it. It will also be getting a new front bumper as well.
On the side, the test mules have shown new alloy wheels. However, apart from the wheels, the rest of the silhouette will remain the same. At the rear, it will come offered with an updated tail lamp cluster, a redesigned rear bumper, and minor styling tweaks for a fresher look.

The cabin will also be updated with a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster. It will most likely also get touch-based AC controls, a gloss-black centre console, and a new two-spoke steering wheel. Other updates will include a wireless smartphone charger, a 360-degree camera, a sunroof, rear AC vents, and a front armrest.
Safety features will also be updated. It is expected to get 6 airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), HSA (Hill Start Assist), and others.
