Renault’s entry-level MPV, Triber, had received a facelift last year. Now, the French car manufacturer has come forward with an updated 2026 version of the MPV with enhanced features and technology. Renault claims that these new additions are focused on making its superior features and comfort more accessible for family car buyers by enriching the entry and mid variants. As part of the update, Renault is now offering features like first-in-segment automatic climate control and more.

Commenting on the launch, Francisco Hidalgo Marques, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Renault India, said "The second-generation Renault Triber has been celebrated as the ultimate family car in the segment, and with this thoughtful upgrade, we’ve taken practicality and comfort to the next level. By introducing segment-first features like automatic air conditioning, full-fold second-row seats with best-in-class boot space, and the standard one-touch tumble function for easy third-row access, we are reaffirming our commitment to delivering unmatched value to our customers. We are confident that these enhancements will strengthen Triber’s position as the first choice for families across India."

Renault, as part of the update, is offering a set of new features. It is available in Authentic, Evolution, Techno, and Emotion variants. All the variants are now offered with features like a one-touch button to fold the second-row seats completely, which allows easy access to the last-row seats. The second row of seats can now be folded completely, which increases the boot capacity to 1065 litres. The Evolution variant of the Triber now comes with steering-mounted audio and phone controls, a day and night adjustable IRVM, and a rear room lamp.
The Techno variant gets upgrades including a driver seat armrest, driver seat height adjuster, rear defogger, a 12V socket for the third row, two front tweeters, and electrically foldable ORVMs, while the top-end Emotion variant is now equipped with all-new automatic climate control, which was missing before.

In terms of safety features, Renault continues to offer a 21-standard safety package, including 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, a tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, and more.
Coming to engine and transmission options, the Triber is currently offered with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 72 PS and 96 Nm of peak torque. Depending on the variant, this MPV is available with manual and AMT gearbox options. The price for the 2026 Renault Triber MPV starts at Rs 5.80 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes all the way up to Rs 8 lakh. With all these changes and upgrades in place, Renault has managed to keep the price in check, which makes the Triber a good value-for-money product for customers who are looking for a 7-seater MPV on a budget.

Renault recently announced that they are working on another update for the Triber, and the upcoming version would be based on the Renault RGEP platform. This would allow Renault to finally offer the turbocharged petrol engine that comes with the Kiger. This has been a much-awaited update for the Triber, as many customers have been complaining about the current engine feeling a bit underpowered.
Not only will the Triber be getting a turbo petrol engine, but Renault is also working on underbody CNG tanks for the Triber and other Renault products. The CNG setup will be paired with the turbo petrol engine, which would offer the MPV a good balance between performance and efficiency.
