Renault India has brought back its iconic SUV, Duster, which started the mid-size SUV segment in India. This SUV is offered with two engine options at the moment, of which the first is the 1.3-litre turbo petrol making 160 PS, and the other is the 1.0-litre turbo making 100 PS. Recently, a detailed walkaround and drive review video of the Renault Duster 1.0 has been shared online.
This video review of the 1.0-litre turbo petrol-equipped Renault Duster has been shared on YouTube by Sanscari Sumit on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger mentioning that this particular variant seen in the video is the second base Evolution variant of the Duster with the 1.0-litre engine. He mentions that this engine is only offered in the base Authentic and second base Evolution variants.

Following this, he then mentions that this particular variant has been priced at Rs 11.69 lakh (ex-showroom). As for the on-road price in Haldwani, it is Rs 13.5 lakh. Soon after this, he starts the walkaround of this Duster 1.0 Evolution. He starts at the front and mentions that even though it is the second base variant, it does not appear to be a lower-end variant from the outside.
At the front, it gets a gloss black front grille with Duster branding, all-LED headlights with LED DRLs, and gloss black elements on the sides of the bumper. It, however, misses out on the front parking sensors. It also does not come equipped with a front parking camera or the ADAS Level 2 sensor. Next up, the vlogger then starts showing the side profile of this SUV.

It can be noted that even though it is the second base variant with the smaller engine option, it still gets alloy wheels. He adds that it gets the same 17-inch grey alloy wheels as the higher-spec variants. Apart from the wheels, it also gets functional roof rails and auto-folding ORVMs with electronic adjustment. The Duster also comes with 212 mm ground clearance, which is very impressive.

Finally, the vlogger then starts showing the rear end of this SUV. He highlights that the second base variant gets the same connected LED taillights as the higher variants. It also gets a reverse parking camera, rear parking sensors, rear window wiper, washer and defogger setup, and an integrated spoiler in addition to a shark fin antenna. Overall, from the outside, the second base variant does not look very cheap.

Following the exterior, the vlogger then starts showing the interior of the Duster Evolution. He mentions that it comes equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, like the higher variants, and a 7-inch digital instrument gauge cluster. It also gets a manual air conditioning system, steering-mounted controls, and cruise control.
Additionally, the SUV gets satin silver and gloss black elements, an armrest in the middle, soft-touch materials, all four power windows with one-touch up and down feature, and fabric upholstery. It also gets a height-adjustable driver seat as well. Overall, the vlogger mentions that the cabin feel is very good and premium, and there is plenty of space in the rear as well.

Soon after the exterior and interior walkaround, the vlogger starts driving the Duster with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. He mentions that even though it only makes 100 PS and 166 Nm of torque, it still offers decent low-end torque. After this, he starts to drive it slightly aggressively on the highway and highlights that although the NVH levels are slightly high, the engine does not feel strained.
It keeps pulling, and it is very fun to drive. He adds that the overall ride quality of the new Duster is very amazing and this variant is a very value-for-money variant. He suggests that anyone who does not require the extra power offered with the 1.3-litre by paying Rs 1.5 lakh extra should seriously consider this variant.
