The competition in the sub-compact SUV segment is rising a lot, and to make sure that the already popular Brezza remains competitive, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the newly updated version of this SUV. It has been reported that the new 2026 Brezza will be offered with a few significant mechanical updates. So be sure to read till the end to know each and everything about the mechanical changes on the new Brezza.

The first and the biggest highlight of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift will be its 1.0-litre turbo petrol Boosterjet engine. This motor is already seen under the bonnet of the Fronx crossover SUV. It is capable of producing 98 bhp and 147 Nm of torque. Currently, the Brezza is only offered with the K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine, which makes 101 bhp and 136 Nm of torque.

So the new turbo powerplant will help in achieving an increased torque output and will provide better drivability in city and highway conditions. Presently, all other rivals of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza offer a turbo petrol engine in their lineup. Additionally, another major benefit of the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine will be in the taxation.
Downsizing from 1.5-litre to 1.0-litre will also help the Brezza in qualifying for the lower GST bracket of 18 percent. Currently, the 1.5-litre engine attracts a flat GST rate of 40 percent as it is bigger than 1,200cc. The lower taxation will make Maruti Suzuki pricing the Brezza extremely competitive. Most likely, Maruti Suzuki will continue offering the Brezza with the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine as well.

Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza is offered with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. However, recently, a test mule of the Brezza with a 6-speed manual gearbox was seen testing on public roads. Most of the rivals of the Brezza offer a 6-speed manual gearbox, and now Maruti Suzuki will also be doing the same.
The 6-speed manual gearbox will help the Brezza with better highway drivability. Due to this transmission, the engine RPM will be lower at higher speeds and offer a more relaxed cruising experience. Also, the fuel efficiency will improve as well, and better gear ratios will help with smoother acceleration. This gearbox will most likely be offered with both the 1.5-litre and the 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo petrol engine.

Like the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Victoris, the new Brezza facelift is also expected to get an underbody-mounted CNG tank. The new placement will help the Brezza CNG in saving a lot of space in the boot, which will increase the overall luggage capacity. It will also make the Brezza CNG a very practical car for long road trips, and it might also help with better handling stability due to improved weight distribution.

Apart from the major mechanical updates, the new Brezza is expected to come loaded with a bigger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, and front parking sensors. It is believed that the Brezza facelift will be launched around the festive season of this year or by early 2027. Currently, the Brezza is priced at Rs 8.25 lakh, and it goes up to Rs 13.01 lakh. However, with these changes, this price could get bumped.
