Driving on a beach is extremely risky. Even if you own a 4x4, there is no guarantee that you may not get stuck in the sand. If you don't have the right set of skills and experience, chances are high that you will end up getting stuck. In India, we have a limited number of beaches where you can actually drive. One such beach is Kerala’s Muzhappilangad Beach. Here, we have a video where a Mahindra Scorpio SUV stuck on wet sand is being rescued or recovered by a Delhi woman tourist driving a Mahindra Thar.
The video has been going viral on the internet over the last couple of days. In this video, we see an old Mahindra Scorpio SUV that was driven onto the beach and got stuck in the sand. It looks like the Scorpio had been stuck on the beach for quite some time. Locals had gathered around the car and were trying to push it and get the SUV out. However, the wet sand turned out to be the villain in this case.
In the video, we can see that the Scorpio’s wheels were stuck and the SUV was actually beached. We already know that the Scorpio is a heavy SUV, which made things even worse. It is a 2WD SUV, and finding traction on the sand was a challenge.

We even see cops standing around the car, but despite all their efforts, the Scorpio wasn’t moving at all. It was then that a Mahindra Thar 4x4 SUV approached. It was being driven by a woman. She didn’t look like a local and was probably a tourist visiting the drive-in beach. When she saw the stuck Scorpio, she decided to help the owner.
She parked the Thar next to the Scorpio, and the locals tied a rope to the rear of the Scorpio. The woman driving the Mahindra Thar then started pulling the Scorpio. Within no time, the Scorpio SUV was freed, and we can see how happy the people gathered around it began celebrating the moment. The woman driving the Thar won everyone’s hearts because of the way she handled the situation. She remained calm throughout and maintained her composure during the entire recovery.
The occupants of the Scorpio and the locals who had gathered around decided to make her feel special. We see them thanking her in the video, and they also pose for pictures with her.
The video clearly shows the capability of a 4x4 SUV when used in the right manner. It also highlights why one should not get too adventurous with a 2WD or RWD vehicle on the beach. Because of such risks, we do not recommend driving cars on sand. It is an extremely tricky surface, and the lack of proper driving technique, equipment, or experience can easily get you into trouble.
Driving on most beaches in India is illegal, but not in this case. Muzhappilangad Beach in Kerala is one of the country’s only beaches where you can legally drive a car.
