Billionaire Yohan Poonawalla Adds Toyota Supra MKIV To His Exotic Car Collection
When it comes to one of the most elite and expensive car collections that include modern luxury, sports, as well as vintage cars and SUVs, the YZP collection comes on top. The collection of Yohan Poonawalla is hands down one of the best in India, and recently it welcomed an iconic sports car — the Toyota Supra MKIV.
The images of Yohan Poonawalla’s son's first-ever car, the Supra, have been shared on Instagram by Mithun Vettath on their page. In the very first image, the billionaire business tycoon was seen standing next to his son, Zayan Yohan Poonawalla, and their newly bought Toyota Supra MKIV. The previous owner of this car was also seen next to the car.
In the next few images, the Supra was seen parked at the famous YZP collection. It was standing next to his 1974 Jaguar E-Type V12 Roadster. Also, behind the Jaguar were his multiple Rolls-Royces, ranging from Phantom VII Dropheads to long-wheelbase variants. There were also Yohan Poonawalla's old and new Bentleys parked in the garage as well.
Additionally, images shared by the previous owner also show the Supra being driven on the family's farmland. During this drive, Zayan Yohan Poonawalla was behind the steering wheel of his first-ever car. It has also been mentioned that the Toyota Supra is the first-ever JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) car in the YZP collection.
For those who may not be aware, the Toyota Supra MKIV is one of the most iconic sports cars from the 1990s. Even after decades, it has a cult-like following and is very popular among the younger generation of automotive enthusiasts. This particular sports car became famous due to the offering of the 2JZ motor, which is considered one of the best base engines for making 1000+ horsepower.
Yohan Poonawalla’s son Zayan bought this Supra from the owner, Mithun Vettath, who has shared the journey of this Supra on his Instagram profile. The vehicle had been owned, refurbished, and modified by him over the last few years, and he recently decided to pass it over to the YZP collection.
As mentioned above, Yohan Poonawalla currently has one of the most unique and exclusive car collections in the entire country. Earlier this year, he added one of the most expensive Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII EWBs in India. He paid around Rs 22 crore for his Bohemian Red-colored sedan. It has also been optioned with a Spirit of Ecstasy finished in solid gold, 22-inch brushed silver alloy wheels, and custom “P” lettering on the C-pillars.
Yohan Poonawalla, in total, owns around 22 Rolls-Royces, including a few Phantom VII and long-wheelbase variants. He also owns two Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupés and a number of Bentleys, including the newest Flying Spur, the old Flying Spur, and many vintage Bentleys.
Recently, Yohan Poonawalla also became the proud owner of a Range Rover that was once used by Queen Elizabeth II. He shared images of the 2016 Range Rover SDV8 Autobiography LWB, finished in Loire Blue color. It used to serve in the royal fleet of Queen Elizabeth II. The same Range Rover was also used to drive US President Barack Obama and his wife during their visit to the United Kingdom in 2016.
