Stray animals jumping from dividers is one of the common problems on Indian roads. Now, mostly these common problems are faced by common people. However, once in a while, politicians who drive in security convoys also have to face similar problems. Recently, a video has become viral online in which Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya narrowly escaped after his Toyota Fortuner collided with a stray cow in Bareilly.
This video showing this incident of the Deputy CM’s SUV hitting a stray cow has been shared on X by Mohammed Zubair on their page. In this short clip, we can note that first a Toyota Innova, a police van, and a few Mahindra Boleros with security personnel pass a few people standing on the side of the road. It can be seen that there was a divider which was closed off by a few barricades.
Soon after this, what happens is that when Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s bulletproof Toyota Fortuner was about to cross, it can be seen and heard that it crashed with a stray cow. As a result of this, the front right portion of the vehicle was damaged. A number of police officers immediately went near the SUV to check the damage.

As per the reports, this particular incident took place a few days ago at the Pilibhit Bypass Road, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. It can be noted that the stray cow emerged out of nowhere from the divider, and due to its sudden appearance, the driver of the Deputy CM’s SUV was unable to perform any preventive measure and crashed into the cow.
Thankfully, the cow only suffered a few minor injuries, and as for Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, he did not suffer any injuries. He was seated in the rear with his seatbelt on. Former MLA Boharan Lal Maurya, who was traveling in the same vehicle, confirmed that no one was injured and the cow also walked off after the incident.
As can be seen in the video, the vehicle was then parked on the side of the road, and the Deputy CM was shifted to another vehicle in the convoy, following which he then proceeded to safely reach the Bareilly airport and departed for Lucknow.

As we all are aware, stray animals jumping on the road out of nowhere is a huge problem. Each and every day, hundreds of accidents take place due to a cow, a dog, or any other animal coming onto the road. In most cases, they are seen jumping off dividers to cross the road, and as they appear very randomly, it becomes very difficult to avoid a collision.
Stray animals on roads become an even bigger problem during nighttime. This is because it becomes even more difficult to spot them in the darkness. What happens generally is that the headlight glare from oncoming vehicles masks the presence of animals until they are dangerously close; as a result, accidents happen. The only preventive action that can be done by a vehicle driver is to pay attention and stay vigilant on the road, especially in areas which are prone to the entry of stray animals.
