Recently, the Tamil superstar Suriya also gifted his team members from his newly released movie “Karuppu” three Mahindra BE 6 Batman Editions. The images of these team members receiving their Mahindra BE 6 electric SUVs have become viral online.
These images of the Karuppu team members with their new Mahindra BE 6 electric SUVs have been shared on Instagram by Viral Bhayani on their page. In these images, we can note that the music composer Sai Abhyankar, cinematographer G.K. Vishnu, and editor R. Kalaivanan have all received Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition SUVs.
As per the reports, Suriya has gifted these cars to these members because of their major contributions to the success of the movie “Karuppu”. This movie has become a major success in Tamil Nadu and achieved the status of a blockbuster after collecting Rs 300 crore. A number of netizens have praised superstar Suriya for recognising the hard work of his team members.
As mentioned above, the Tamil superstar Suriya has not opted for the standard Mahindra BE 6. Instead, he has opted for the BE 6 Batman Edition, which is based on a first-of-its-kind tie-up between Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP) and Mahindra Automotive.
On the outside, this electric SUV comes with a Batmobile-like satin black paint job. It also gets gold-painted suspension components and brake callipers, which add an exquisite contrast to the vehicle. It also gets 20-inch aero blade-style alloy wheels.
Additionally, the SUV also gets Batman branding on the seats, boost button, and various interior labels. The infotainment system of this BE 6 gets a special Batman-inspired welcome animation. The Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition is based on the Pack Three variant of this electric SUV.
It comes equipped with a 79 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 683 km on a single full charge. As for the motor, it gets a 282 bhp and 380 Nm torque-generating motor powering the rear wheels.
Although the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition is a very special car, it has been surrounded by controversy. For those who may not be aware, Mahindra launched the BE 6 Batman Edition back in August of last year. At the time, it first announced that only 300 units of this SUV would be built. However, after noticing the extremely high demand, the company increased this production number from 300 to 999 units.
At the time of the booking commencement, in just 135 seconds, all of the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition units were sold out. Now, at the time, it was believed that the BE 6 Batman Edition would not be offered again and there would only be 999 units. However, earlier this year, the company launched the second batch of 999 units of the BE 6 Batman Edition.
This then created a massive outrage among the owners of the first batch of the BE 6. And after these owners filed petitions, Mahindra announced a buyback offer. In this offer, the first-batch owners were given a strict 30-day window to surrender their cars back to dealerships. However, the catch was that the buyback only refunded the base ex-showroom price. The cost of insurance, loan foreclosure, and other charges were not included.
As a result of this, many customers stated that they trusted Mahindra and believed that they were getting a limited-production car. However, they now feel cheated by the brand. Mahindra, on the other hand, has stated that there will now be only 1,998 units of the BE 6 Batman Edition and it will not produce any more units.
