Although electric vehicles have become a lot more advanced and their penetration in the market has increased significantly, there are still a lot of cases of EV fires. Most recently, a Rs 2.4 crore Porsche Taycan Turbo S electric sports sedan caught fire in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. A video showing this super-expensive and rare electric car burning on the side of a road has been shared online.
This video showing the Porsche Taycan Turbo S in flames has been shared on Instagram by Aarya Ji on their page. It starts off with the vlogger mentioning that the vehicle seen in the clip might be a sports car that has caught fire. He then mentions that this vehicle seems familiar to him, after which he notes the green registration number and mentions that this is an electric vehicle.

Following this, the vlogger concludes the video by mentioning that EV cars are catching fire frequently. We can note that there is nobody around the vehicle except for a few passersby who were standing on the other side of the road. Most likely, the owner of this particular vehicle abandoned it after it caught fire.
At the moment, there are no reports that have clearly stated the reason behind the fire of this particular Porsche Taycan Turbo S. However, it most likely has something to do with the battery or electrical system. For those who may not be aware, back in December 2024, Porsche and Audi announced a recall of a total of 207 cars, which included 176 Taycans and 31 units of the e-tron GT or RS e-tron GT.

This recall was made as the companies noted that the battery cell modules might have certain technical issues from the time of production. As a result, it could lead to a rise in temperature and, ultimately, a fire if a short circuit within the battery module took place. Now, this particular Porsche Taycan Turbo S was most likely one of those that were recalled. So, there is a possibility that it might have caught fire due to some factory defect.
As per the reports, this particular Porsche Taycan Turbo S belongs to Sanskar Daryani from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He is a music producer, and it was bought by him back in March 2022. Also, this Taycan Turbo S was the second one delivered in India and the first one in Madhya Pradesh.
Apart from this Porsche Taycan Turbo S, Daryani also owns a number of other exotic and luxury cars. The main highlight of his collection is his Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder, which was the first one delivered in India. It is finished in the bright shade of Verde Citrea with contrasting black alloy wheels.
He also owns a McLaren 570S Spyder, which is finished in the shade of Storm Grey. As for his third convertible sports car, Daryani also owns a Porsche 718 Boxster Spyder, which is finished in a bright shade of yellow. His other unique cars include a BMW Z4 convertible, BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE 53 Coupe, Mini Cooper S convertible, and others.
