Mitsubishi is a popular Japanese car brand around the world. They were present in India too sadly, they never found success in our market. They had models like Lancer, Pajero Montero and Outlander in the Indian market. Here we have a video, where an old rusty Mitsubishi Pajero sport has been transformed into an all new SUV.
The video has been shared by Autorounders on their YouTube channel. In this video, the workshop mentions that they were asked to work on a new project where they had to restore a Mitsubishi Pajero sport. Pajero and Pajero Sport are extremely popular SUVs internationally. Even in India, they have a huge fan following and many off-roaders still opt for this over many modern day SUVs. In this case, the car workshop spoke about the work they carried out on the SUV and things they did on the SUV.
Coming to the video, the workshop mentions that finding parts for such vehicles has been a challenge for many owners. However, people at Autorounders somehow still find the parts and are even able to import some parts with ease. In this case, the car had several issues mechanically and the car needed a fully body paint job along with restoration on few panels.
The whole work was done in a systematic manner as explained in the video. The workshop owner mentioned that they only started the video after the mechanical problems were resolved.
The whole SUV has been repainted in a black shade. They even managed to source the original Pajero sport sticker that is usually seen on the doors. Not just the exterior, interior of the SUV has also been redone as per customer request, the owner wanted the interior to look as sporty as the exterior.

The workshop gave the SUV a black and ice grey shade for the cabin. The lower half of the dashboard and the door panels are finished in ice grey. The SUV continues to offer all the features that it used. We see features like a touchscreen infotainment system, electrically adjustable driver seat, leatherette upholstery, automatic climate control, faux wooden door panels and so on. It is a seven seater SUV and the cabin has been transformed completely.
The alloy wheels on this particular SUV has been repainted in black and the brake calipers have been painted red too. The finished product looks extremely clean and it looks like the workshop carried out quality work on the SUV. The quality of interior and exterior work actually looks commendable.
Coming to the spec, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport SUV is powered by a 2.5 litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that generates 175 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. The SUV was offered with both manual and automatic transmission. Both manual and automatic versrions of this SUV came with 4x4 transfer case. The restoration seen here in the video has been done without actually losing the actual character of the pajero.
