The electric two-wheeler manufacturing giant Ola Electric, which has been in the news lately for all the wrong reasons, has now finally delivered its residential home battery system. The deliveries of Ola Shakti 6 kW and 9.1 kWh battery systems have commenced, and recently, images of the first-ever delivery of it to a customer have been shared online.
These images of the delivery of the first Ola Shakti home battery system have been shared on X by Ola Electric on their page. In these images, a young boy can be seen firstly unboxing the Ola Shakti system. He then poses with it for a picture as well. As mentioned, the company started delivering the 6 kW and 9.1 kWh variant. As per the company, the nationwide rollout of Ola Shakti will be scaled in the coming months.

The Ola Shakti home battery system comes powered by Ola Electric’s in-house developed 4680-format lithium cells. These cells have been designed, engineered, and manufactured in India. The company offers it in 3 kW and 5.2 kWh, and 6 kW and 9.1 kWh variants, and it has managed to secure BIS certification for both.
As per the company, the certification for the 6 kW and 9.1 kWh was received on January 15 this year, and the same for 3 kW and 5.2 kWh has been received recently as well. The 3 kW and 5.2 kWh system underwent the mandatory BIS testing under IS 16242 (Part 1):2025 and IEX 62040-1:2017. This certification covered extensive safety and environmental evaluations.
These include short circuit protection, overload protection, electric shock protection, electric energy hazard protection, fire and thermal hazard protection, environmental hazard protection, and ingress protection. It has also managed to pass sonic pressure hazard protection and wiring and connection safety tests.

For those who may not be aware of the Ola Shakti, it has been positioned as a replacement for conventional lead-acid inverters and diesel generators. The Shakti offers zero running cost, zero maintenance costs, cleaner, silent operation, higher efficiency, and improved safety. It also offers instant 0 milliseconds changeover time, which ensures uninterrupted power during outages. It also operates at an input voltage range of 170 V - 270 V.
The Ola Shakti utilizes spill-proof, automotive-grade batteries. Like the Ola Electric scooters, which also use the same 4680 Bharat cell, the Shakti battery pack also carries an IP67 rating. Ola Electric claims that it has been extensively tested for dust resistance, water resistance, and Indian monsoon conditions.
As for the pricing, Ola Electric has priced Shakti 3 kW and 5.2 kWh at Rs 1,49,999. Meanwhile, the 6 kW and 9.1 kWh variant has been priced at Rs 2,49,999. Currently, the company is only delivering Shakti in Bengaluru. However, gradually, it will commence deliveries across other major Indian cities.

Currently, Ola Electric is struggling with its two-wheelers in India. The company's sales were reduced a lot due to the increasing number of complaints. Thousands of S1, S1 Pro, X, and other scooters, along with the newly launched Roadster X motorcycles, have been stuck at service centres across the country. Due to this, the share price of Ola Electric is also going down as well.
