The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is slowly becoming very popular in the already crowded mid-size SUV segment of India. A number of popular YouTubers have bought this SUV and have started modifying it. Recently, one of the very first YouTubers to own a Victoris CNG has shared a new video in which he modifies his SUV even further. Currently, this particular Victoris is the only fully blacked-out one in India.
The video showing the modifications being done on a Maruti Suzuki Victoris CNG has been shared on YouTube by Tarun Vlogs on their channel. It starts off with the YouTuber mentioning that he will be taking his SUV to a window tint shop to get the front windshield, side windows, and rear windshield tinted. He adds that he already has the tint, which he bought for his Maruti Suzuki Swift.

Following this, he then goes to the shop, and the person starts installing the window tints. The vlogger mentions that he has not opted for the darkest black tint, as the vehicle then gets stopped by traffic police every time. He also adds that he is adding window tint to give his SUV a menacing look, as it was recently blacked out on the outside.
In the previous modification video, the owner of this particular Maruti Suzuki Victoris changed its complete exterior color from white to black. He shows the vehicle at the shop, where it was given an all-black paint protection film. The owner of the shop also highlights that they have hydrodipped the matte black parts of this SUV in gloss black.
As for the rest of the vehicle, it has been given a black paint protection film, which helps in both protecting the paint as well as giving it a menacing appearance. The shop owner also mentions that they have blacked out the Suzuki emblems on the front and rear as well. Prior to this, the owner had already added massive 22-inch brushed silver alloy wheels to the vehicle, which, with the gloss black exterior, give it a unique appearance.

A lot of vloggers and car owners in India love modifying their vehicles for views and personal satisfaction. However, a lot of them don’t mention this, but modifying vehicles is illegal in India. First off, let’s talk about the black paint protection film. In India, if you want to get your car wrapped with a transparent paint protection film, then there will be no legal implications.
Now if one decides to add black paint protection film to a car that does not have black color as the base and on its registration certificate, then, in that case, it will become an illegal act. As mentioned, the Victoris in the video is originally a white-colored car.
However, adding a black paint protection film has given it a complete color change, and this is a direct violation of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. In India, a complete color change of a vehicle is only allowed if it has been approved by the RTO and the color has been changed on the registration certificate as well.

Now, coming to black window tints, there are certain limits. A tint on windows and windshields is only legal if it has a minimum of 70% VLT (Visible Light Transmission) on the front and rear windshields and a minimum of 50% VLT on the side windows. If these limits are not followed, police can fine up to Rs 10,000 and, in some cases, impound the vehicle.
