A lot of people in India are now buying base variants of popular cars and then converting them into top variants. This is mostly done by taking such cars to aftermarket shops, which are now offering packages called “Base to Top Conversion.” Recently, a video has been shared online in which one such shop has converted a base Maruti Suzuki Victoris into a top-spec variant with the help of aftermarket accessories and parts.
The video showing the Maruti Suzuki Victoris transformation has been shared on YouTube by Vig Auto Accessories on their channel. It starts off with the host mentioning that this particular Victoris is a base variant that recently came to their shop for a complete conversion. Following this, he then shows the exterior as well as the interior and mentions the upgrades done by them.
First off, the owner of the shop starts with the exterior upgrades of this Maruti Suzuki Victoris. He mentions that the base model comes with 17-inch steel wheels, so the owner of this car decided to opt for the 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, which are offered by the company on the newly updated Grand Vitara.

He then adds that they have given this SUV new silver side skirts as well. Moving on, he shows the top portion of the SUV and highlights that they have wrapped the roof, A, B, and C pillars in high-gloss black paint protection film. This gives it a premium dual-tone appearance, which only the top-spec variants get.
Next up, he moves to the front end and adds that they have installed Osram LED lights and Hella projector LED DRLs, which offer a warm white glow. The front and rear have also been fitted with silver skid plates as well.

Following the complete exterior walkaround, the owner of the shop then gives a tour of the interior. He starts by mentioning that they have added premium leather seat covers to this Victoris, which get a lot of extra cushioning. It has also been given 7D mats on the bottom, which protect the floor.

Moving on, he highlights that the dashboard and the door pads of this Victoris have also been wrapped in leatherette with hand stitching. As for the color theme of this cabin, the leatherette seat covers and dashboard are finished in Ice Pearl color. Apart from these, chrome door handles and gloss black panels on the door handles and their surrounding areas have been added as well.

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is the latest mid-size SUV in the market, and it starts at Rs 10.49 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 19.98 lakh. In terms of design, it boasts a more modern and sharp-looking exterior with connected LED headlights at the front and connected LED taillights at the rear. It also gets unique 17-inch alloy wheels, and its overall silhouette is very sleek and sporty.

Before we give our opinion, it has to be clarified that the term “worth it” is very subjective. Each individual has their own meaning of worth it. For some, buying a variant that already comes equipped with most of the features they want and need is worth the price. However, for others, paying more upfront is a waste of money.
Such people prefer to buy base variants of these popular cars and then take them to aftermarket shops. After that, they hand-select all the mods they want and customize the vehicle according to their taste, which makes it “worth it” to them. Now, although there is generally no harm in aftermarket modifications on cars.

It has to be noted that if the aftermarket shops make alterations to the wiring harness or other electrical and mechanical components, the company can void the warranty. So, if you are thinking of opting for such base-to-top conversions, then you have to make sure that no such alterations are made that may cause the vehicle to catch fire, as the company will not be liable for any damage.
